I started my job when I was 19 when everyone else was in their 50s so I got lots of kid jokes lol. Also 1 million of their references have gone over my head.

I promise you all of you guys have lots of skills I dont, this is a skilled group. I was lucky to get an opportunity to basically apprentice for my boss who is an absolute master at what we do. Hes 68 now and has had some eye injuries (unrelated to glassblowing) that have left him having a lot of difficulty with hands on work these days. He still knows exactly how to solve any problems I have but he can rarely manage to show me by example which is a shame, but its left space for me to grow my skills even more because I dont have the crutch of being able to watch him and just copy him any more. And just for clarity im 28 now, 9 years into my job and hoping to continue until I retire (early if I'm lucky!).

Wish I had the skills y'all had, trust not much more I can do aside from the basics. Willing to learn, not much time though and don't have the space and tools.

I would be curious to know why it is difficult to find someone willing to work on these wheels. There may be a reason for that...

Very well could be liability concerns. Definitely something going on there.

    A thing or two...
Glasses here. I basically wear them all the time, but only really need them for distance. I can read and do computer work/watch TV without them. I don't put them on in the morning on weekends sometimes, or I'll take them off at work while I'm working on the computer.
