FN also makes a quality firearm. The 509 would most likely meet your needs. As others have mentioned, glock, sig, H&K, S&W, and even Ruger are trustworthy brands

Asking this question Charlie will open Pandora’s box.

Whatever gun you do decide on, make sure it’s the main one you practice with and very proficient with it.

A carry weapon should be comfortable, light, decent amount of capacity in the magazine, and for all things holy...yes, keep a round in the chamber.

Some comparisons. Not my weapons, because I had a boating accident.

If all else fails, get one of these that are trained. It’s amazing what they can do to a human.

You are asking for one gun that meets requirements on opposite sides of the spectrum here. No gun that is excellent at target shooting will be compact and easy to carry. Concealed carrying is uncomfortable regardless of the gun in my opinion, unless you wear horribly fitting clothes. The glock 19 is probably what your best balanced choice will be. Or anything in that size range. The 43 or 43x is cool but it’s a single stack with a short barrel so it’s not going to be anywhere close to excellent at the range. The best way to have accuracy at the range is longer barrels. The best way to be comfortable concealed carrying is shorter barrels.

of course this is my opinion and the internet so do what you want with that info haha.

Best thing is find a range that rents guns. IMO the way it feels in your hand is most important.

Can I get a German Shepherd that gets along with Porter but will still tear an intruder apart?

And that’s a 9mm? I’ve heard very good things about H&K; There’s a place near me called Guardian Training Center, with a range, that has numerous guns for rent and lets you try the ones they’re selling before you buy. Not sure if they’re an H&K dealer though...

I have the regular Glock 43 with an IWB holster and it’s conceals very nicely even with a hip carry position. I believe it holds 6 with one chambered..

    Yes it’s a 9mm. Bigger than a glock 43 though and it comes with 10rd mag’s
