Yes!! Glad you posted so I found out about it. It was so nice out there. We took that trail right off the entrance to the rocks. Parked, had lunch, let the dogs run around.Accidentally took the wrong trail. It was an awesome adventure.

Did you stay the night or just pass through? That long bed of yours would be downright luxurious compared to my short bed.

Glad you had a good time out there. I've spent probably too much time in that area.
We had couple of good friends that were the caretakers of Bickel Camp for a few years.

It is almost all BLM land out there, except for Red Rocks State Park.
There is lots of other interesting stuff in the area, Bickel Camp, The Burro Schmidt Tunnel, Cudahay Mine, A couple of nice cabins you can stay in. Last Chance Canyon, Black Mountain (hike to the summit, it's weird up there, there is an ancient man made "pyramid" of stacked rocks and inscriptions/rock art everywhere!). Jawbone, Dove springs, etc...
There is even a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail you can drive on to get up to McIvers Spring and Cabin up in the Southern Sierras.

Just passed through. Spent the entire day there, though. I love having the long bed, we're still going to end up going with a RTT for the truck eventually though. With my wife and myself and 2 dogs. We need the storage space. Hence why we went long bed. And I wouldn't be surprised at any point, that I come home from work and my wife says "surprise! we got another dog"....

Wow! I would love to go see the man made pyramid! I'll have to plan an actual trip up there and spend more than just the day. Just need the NFL season to be over, so I get my weekends back!

Right? If it weren't from my grumpy old dog who has little to no patience for.....anyone, we'd have a house full.

It's actually quite impressive, probably 50 feet high or so, way up on the summit where there are not many loose rocks around, they got carried there and stacked.
The old-timers say that it was a gathering spot for the natives.
