@Gritto story time w/ Shawn (Phil be lacking lately):

I got sober and cleaned up my shit after my wife got pregnant with twins. At an OB appointment she asked us if we wanted to know what we were having. She said officially we need to wait for the ultrasound specialist, but she could tell us then. Sure, we said. She said you're having 2 girls.

My reaction, honest to God, in my head:
Fuck, got sober to be a father and as soon as my girls start dating I'm going to end up murdering some boy and go to prison.


Few weeks go by and I'm constantly in my head freaking out. We go to the ultrasound specialist and they confirm we are having one girl and one boy.

My reaction, honest to God, in my head:
Thank you! Worst case my son goes to juvie for a few months. What a relief. I felt my shoulders loosen up immediately.

Two at once was overwhelming. But I love my little princess more than anything I could have imagined. She is so sweet and cuddly, for now. 5 this month.

My son isn't big with his before bedtime. My girl demands several and I have trouble getting out of the room. She a little hustler with a long game (toy stores for now).

 

I'm looking through the gate! You would think they would've called the cops by now!

I've learned the lesson to not instantly comfort my girl when she comes running to me crying. Usually my wife told her no or disciplined her. Gets me in trouble. Now I have to ask first. It is so hard to not just hold her and calm her down. Even when I know she's in trouble. Some innate father thing to comfort her.
