I know I’m gonna sound like a dick saying this, especially bc I have my camper already, but all the order tracking obsession taking over this thread is lightweight annoying. The google doc is a good idea to help you guys get a sense of where you’re at. But maybe start another thread so it doesn’t take over the Spec and FAQ thread?

Sorry if that pisses anyone off. Not trying to offend anyone. Carry on.

Good idea. For those waiting on their first (or second Drifter), it is easy to get excited/anxious/etc about when we'll be getting it so we can go adventure more... I created a thread here hoping that we can move discussion in there and get back to Drifter Specs and FAQ.

OK by me, but must point out "WTF is happening?" precisely fits the definition of a FAQ, especially on this "Specs and FAQ" thread, for reasons that are not the fault of those asking.

It seems to me that the most Frequently Asked Question is when will i get my Drifter/Nomad?

CBI sliders, ADS extend travel with compression adjuster coil overs, 9” Bilstein 5125 rear shocks, Icon Tubular UCA, Alcan custom leafs, All Pro Apex bumper and skids, NWTI rear diy bumper, 295/70/17 Cooper St Maxxs and nitro 4.88s.
I (well really my Gf) is order 1340 and was placed on 11/4/2020.

I do have a question about rear leafs people are running. Currently have a set of Deaver U402 stage 1 leaf. Is stage 2 a better option? I was tried to call deaver to see if there was an option for an add a leaf or something. The pack is only 2 years old and has lots of life left. But I couldn’t get through to them.

I don’t have a drifter or plan on buying one but I find it really interesting on the lead times and the speculation of when they’ll be delivered. Spreadsheet talk included.

I’ve met Phil a couple of time and he’s a really cool sharp guy. I want him to succeed.

I’m not going to subscribe to another thread to follow his success. So post your orders and dates if you want, doesn’t bother me.

It sounds like you want all the stages from Deaver from what others have written in the threads. Many have ordered custom packs to suit the estimated weight they'll be carrying.

I'm running for 2? years strong on OME HD pack with an extra leaf. Hub to fender measurements hasn't changed, even after many trips with enthusiastic driving in Baja and all over the West US. Depending on the loadout, I run 3300-3700lbs on the rear from weighing on truck scales multiple times along our highways. I basically have a drifter plain top, frontrunner bed drawer with fluids/recovery/spare parts.. heavy things, 15g frontrunner water tank, BAMF sliders, 34g LRA fuel tank, rear steel bumper/spare/2x 5gal fuel cans. Seems a treat, but I'm an anecdote of one.

Pulling for Phil and crew too! You can't meet nicer people and it is a shame they're along for the ride with other processes while being a small business.

I figure one of these times I invite them to Baja, he and Iggy will say yes, and we can celebrate their success (at being able to be away from the shop for leisure instead of business).

It seems like people don’t know, but you can put half down and no add ons on...then place your order.

That way you aren’t out 13k for 14+ months.

I’m ordering a Nomad soon and will only pay the base price. Also, if you want to sell your spot, let me know.

Yup. That’s exactly what I did. Placed the order with no options initially and then added everything at the end!

I was working inside the Drifter today while it was raining outside and I finally saw where the water is coming through. I have been chasing this water leak since the very beginning. Looks like it leaks through the seal between the drifter and the plastic bed cap. Has anyone dealt with this issue in the past?

    20201205_183517.jpg

After it rained for about an hour the water was coming down the side to the bed rail.

I have been compulsively checking my email every 20-30 min for the past 3 weeks waiting for the "your drifter is ready" message.

I may be more excited than when I realized I was going to lose my virginity... maybe... it's really close...

When I took a visit to vagabond and checked out Phil’s, he mentioned that replacing the plastic bed rail with a metal top. That would probably create a flat surface and a better seal.

Are you sure it's not leaking down from the Frontrunner door logo as mentioned back in July?
