Can a guy fit under a tonneau cover? I'm just thinking of something that's offroad friendly that would get me off the ground and guarantee a camping spot anywhere.

More dreaming and playing with ideas at this point than actually seriously getting anything.

I suppose you could as long as you're not claustrophobic. Might be a little hot in the morning in the summer time since most tonneaus are black they absorb heat. I would want the ability to sit up though.

I cannot wait to get my trailer out of storage after this winter. Next camping season is going to be my first with the Tacoma. Really looking forward to hauling with it!

I've seen a few random posts of people sleeping under their supertop, haven't read any complaints. I'm thinking of picking one up for the furry kids and the occasional night in the truck bed.

I'd probably get a bestop once I went that route anyway, but thought I might as well ask the question for curiosity's sake

That is a sick trailer. Can you give me some more information on it. Is that a military m416 trailer? Where did you get it? And can it be customized?

I fit under mine just fine...and I have considered sleeping in there. :p Wouldn't do it when it's 100 degrees outside. But for the rest of the seasons I think it would be a pleasant place to sleep.

Got mine from Sportsman's Guide. It's a steal at $70, when most are in the $200s. Works awesome even in terrible weather/winter! Get the full size if you have a long bed... Here's a link:

    Love camping in mine.

Sorry rain fly is a bit crooked in this picture.

How about making something for the tonneau that works similar to a vanagon's top. Like this:

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
DC LB is awesome camp truck, I have ARE shell on mine and we just toss Coleman aero bad on the back. It slips adult + 4 kids easily. There is no need for tent assembly and even during the rain easy to move to another location :D

kinda my thoughts too. keep the mpg's high with everything slid in back, pull the bike rack outta the hitch, toss the ez-up on the ground, empty yer gear bags/boxes and yer camped within :10 of findin a ideal spot. need to hit town? no need to tear down. may not be perfect for everyone but it suits me. that said, im havin massive truck tent and trailer envy!
