I was in the same boat, never thought I would have a cover on my bed, thought it defeated the purpose of having a pickup. However, I bought my used and it had an Undercover hard cover and I love it. I’ve removed it a handful of times, but most times I can keep it on and just bungee the cover in the open position, so it doesn’t flop around. I can take it off myself, but it’s bulky as hell. It never leaks and I like the added security it provides, of course any motivated turd could pry it open.

I have an UnderCover Flex hard tri-fold. It's nice for sure, folds all the way up as well so you can utilize 100% of your bed (so long as you don't mind not seeing out the back window). Only takes about 3 minutes to take off/put on. It's decently water-tight but after a good rain, I do see some moisture on the left and right sides of the bed interior.

My one annoyance with it is that it uses the bedside rails so when it's off, I still don't have full usage of the handy Tacoma bed features.

Here's my best photo I have of it:

Installed the Truxedo Lo Pro yesterday evening. Very impressed with the quality and function of this cover, and it looks good too! I will have to seal up the corners near the cab a little bit better, but overall I think this is going to suit me well. Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions and recommendations.
