Yes, I had thought the same thing. It does look like that spot. You know I have made it through that spot that way before but it really matters on how much rain we have gotten!
Man that really sucks for him!

becsuse it was down pouring so the mud just slicks right off. Plus the mud puddles were rained out so that was all clear water not murky shit.

Yup. That's the spot! Stay all the way to the left if it's been raining.

I think it might be the crossing further south of that one, could be wrong though. Either way both are close and on the gas lines.

@LivinLoud @Blais03 i definitely need to get a diff breather set up on my truck speaking of which :D

I'm so mad I didn't go. Woke up Saturday morning, it was snowing, there was a Winter Weather Alert, and we decided not to risk driving 2 hours out of state. Everyone kept saying it was "stock friendly" so in my head, we were going to be driving just like, unpaved roads or something. Now seeing how big the turnout was and how muddy it got, I'm really mad at myself for not going. No idea when the next outing will be :-(

I did however still donate to a local Toys for Tots, so thanks for giving me the motivation to actually go out and get some toys.

Any update on the possibly hydrolocked truck? Isn't the air intake high on the passenger side? I'm surprised it pulled water into it

Nope, not private. It's Noreast Yotas on fb.

The truck is back to the owners place. The oem intake pulls air from the wheel well, pretty low and right in front of the passenger wheel.

I think it might be private that you have to join, but you should be able to find it by searching. I don't know the nomenclature for private vs. public but restricted who knows. I am not facebook savvy.

Glad he got it towed home.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-well-vent.646366/

That thread shows where the air intake vents are for a truck without a snorkel.

I'm a little confused... I understand those are vents but isn't the actual intake much higher? I did this a few weeks ago, had water coming in from both doors, and am somehow fine

Yup if you go into the thread they actually show the air intake is higher up. But, that's where the water gets sucked in through that vent and/or, apparently he didn't have fender liners in there either. So one of the two paths, water found a way.

I want to thank everyone who came in the awful weather to donate (and to those that donated elsewhere)! We just got home from dropping off the toys to the Marines!!!

We had more toys than it looked like while they were in the trailer! Thanks again everyone!
