Less than 7000 miles on this 2020 TRD Offroad. Hit and Run. I have a $300.00 Deductible. My question is: do I use the insurance money for mods or get the damage fixed?

This is my first ever brand new vehicle. The truck is a 2020 TRD Offroad Manual transmission. I already have the VF Tuner, Old Man Emu full heavy duty suspension, SPC UCA's, Leer canopy, new Toyo Open Range AT tires, Armaggedon Armour front bumper, Warn Winch Zeon 10s

Is there any metal damage, or just with the plastic wheel flare? It looks like the fender is pushed in a bit, but hard to tell in the photo. If it's just pushed in a bit, you should be able to easily pop it back out.

If it were me being that its in the bed and can't be easily replaced with mods I'd fix it unless you like having a fucked up ugly brand new truck. If you can pop the dent out yourself I'm sure a new flare wouldn't cost too much.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Is your insurance company ONLY going to issue a check to the repair shop and not to you directly?

If it were mine, I'd fix it, no second thought.

Look a Paintless dent removal guy or get a kit and the fender should pop back out. Figure out if you can live with the flare damage after and either say f it or replace it.
Or say f all that and go through insurance. That’s why have insurance.

If it was a hit and run, it is safe to assume that your insurance company is paying for the damages. If you have a loan on the truck, your insurance knows that and they are just as responsible to the bank as they are to you. ie, you do not have a choice.

Dentless repair should be able to pull that out easily. As far as the plastic goes, watch Craigslist as they show up from time to time for cheap.

See if you can get the dent out for about a hundred, put on a new flare or better looking wider flares, come out about even, and don't have a mark on your insurance.

100% fix it. A dealer dented my side like that after an oil change and wouldn't admit it, I literally had pulled the sim card to my dash cam out that day so I had no recourse (facepalm). I looked at it every single day, if you have any form of OCD you will care less about mods and only look at that spot. I ordered a kit and tried to fix it myself and it didn't do anything. Not to mention those flares are more $$ than you'd expect for stupid plastic. If you don't want to pay the deductible/have it as a claim on your policy and ensure you have OEM flares buy the flare separately and take it to a PDR shop yourself- guessing that's around 200-450, mine was similar but had a crease which makes it harder and was $420 plus the price of the fender flare (but it was a really nice shop). A good PDR shop will make it look like nothing ever happened there.

PDR guy can probably pop that out, but it looks like the paint is chipped off. So at best your going to get the dent popped, but have rust.

Fix it right, you're going to end up paying for it eventually, mighty as well do it now.

It's only fraud if you file a claim for the same damage twice.
