The keypad is mounted on the inside of the drivers side windshield. It allows entry with a 5 digit code in case you don't have your keys to enter the vehicle. I set it up, but I think I will likely never use it.

 

I don't think so either, because you can't lock the truck with the smartkey inside anyways and you also have the Toyota Connect App for your phone. Interesting dealer add on.

 

That's kinda cool, but a windshield replacement is gonna be $$$$

I posted that after passing one on the hwy under cloudy/rainy conditions. My passenger agreed.
To each their own, but Toyota could have done something much, much cooler. I also do not think it'll age well. All the more power to you if you enjoy and like the colour though! it's all personal preference (=

I dig the lunar rock color. If that’d been available i would’ve gone with that over quicksand back in ‘17

My initial thoughts too, they still do this, my Dad's Raptor and Bro's new Escape still have these, I remember our Expedition and Excursion growing up had the like bulky pad ones on the door, you'd think too given cell phone door lock/unlock abilities, etc. they'd save the money and get rid of this useless feature by now.

 

My 2016 f150 had the keypad and I used it regularly, but it was a key start. Not sure of the need for it on a push start.

Well just placed my order for a LR Tacoma after searching tirelessly in South Florida for one. Was quoted 3 months hopefully it will arrive sooner. Can't wait!! First time buyer of a Toyota. ( Mods looking to do within the first week. (BF KO2, Prinsu roof rack,Baja fog lights, and rock sliders haven't figured out what sliders yet.)

 

Toyota does them in waves so probably about right. I was quoted Nov/Dec for mine back in Oct and it just showed up, but decided to hold onto my 2020 Cement.
