Did that deform the ID of your rod end when you pressed it out? When the race mushrooms like that it usually opens up the bore slightly and the bearings are not a light press fit anymore and the rod end needs to be replaced.

Luckily, no, rod end is OK, still a light press fit in. I did notice however that the last time (or some previous time, since I'm doing this like 4x year now) when I pressed in a set of bearings, I must not have gone quite straight in, and I got a little bulge of aluminum near one of the snap rings. That also wasn't an issue, because I just pressed in/out the other side, but I figure I probably will replace the rod end in the next little bit here.

Did the second coat on the speaker box. Ran the power wire from the Aux battery, mocked up the ground (just need to crimp the eyelet and bolt it to the floor)

Ran the speaker wire to the rear door speakers. Fabbed adapter plates and mounted the rear door speakers. Pulled the front driver door panel and replaced my door handle... Then I ran out of daylight.

Brought the party inside... ran some of the power ground and remote wires and mocked up the amps... my wife LOVES IT when my projects come in to the kitchen counter </sarcasm

Hopefully you have better luck than I did. Took 4 failed orders before I finally found a dealership in Texas that actually had one in stock and would ship it to NC since most said no because of the explosive pre-tensioner.

Feels good and ride seems nice but I only went on a quick 5mi test drive. Have to button up a few things tomorrow morning then I’ll put some miles on it.

I have the chance to buy a $100 topper today. Needs locks but otherwise complete and no damage. It has a terrible camo wrap done to it. I’ll be painting it myself so how hard will it be to remove the wrap? Should I just prime and paint over it? Just going with black- possibly bedliner.

Here is my "if it was me" thoughts. I would remove the wrap rather than paint over. It appears that this can be managed using a heat gun to soften the adhesive, and then pulling. This way, you would be back to a painted surface. Additionally, you can now repair any damage lurking below the wrap, especially since you are already planning to prime and paint/bedline. When I did mine, I removed all of the windows too. If they are like mine, it's just a bunch of screws that pull the main window and a trim piece together, sandwiching the fiberglass between. This also gives you the opportunity to use silicone caulk to get a good seal around the windows. Good luck!

Got the bed removed with the help of two friends, began wiping down and cleaning all of the exposed bits to assess the state of things. Trying to fix a small evap leak (P0456), and eliminate the gas smell from the filler neck area.

Going to replace the fuel pump, the three rubber gaskets on the top side of the tank and all of the rubber hoses and clamps. I was thinking the gas smell might be from the filler neck, but it, but I haven't found any cracks there yet. The amount of surface rust on the tank makes me want to give it a coat of POR15. Hoping that the mating surface for the gaskets is usable, otherwise I might be getting a new tank. Any other suggestions for things to do while the bed is removed?

Had to make adapters for the front speakers.

The adapter is isolated from the sheet metal with bituthene.

Then the speaker is sealed with bituthene.

I ran sound deadener inside the door behind the speaker. Cross over for the componants is mounted in the bottom of the door.
