Gotcha. My ch4x4 switch is already connected but I'm not 100% sure how I wired it. I believe the illumination wire is attached to an add a fuse to the tail lights fuse so it comes on when the lights are on but the dimmer doesn't change the lighting. I'm assuming that if I take that wire and attach it to your + wire then attach your - wire to the switch that everything will continue to operate properly while being able to dim the switch with the dash lights. Is this correct?

That's good to know. One more question. How many switches can be added to this without causing issues?

I know people that have run 6 switches off of even smaller connectors. Right now I have 5 and no issues. LEDs are very efficient.

Does the 2nd gen have the same plug? Can you take a picture of it for me?

    Two (dumb) questions:

    1. Where (precisely) does this plug into the existing harness?
    2. Is there a relevant difference for different gens (I have a 3rd gen)? Thank you.

I don’t think 2nd gens have it. You could try to tap the neighboring traction control switch. Solid green is the Ill (+) and green with white is the variable Ill (-). I’d have to track down connectors if there was demand for it. It’s not a connector I’ve seen on my truck.

I’d be in for one that taps the cargo lights so I can run a bed light.

The switch you have circled is what controls the cargo light in the 3rd brake light assembly. I’m looking to add a bed light that is controlled by that switch since my 3rd brake/cargo light are blocked by my softopper.

Good news: I was able to up my raw materials order. So for folks that were on the wait list for the 2nd batch you will be included in the first batch. We may be delayed by a few days on the ETA so take the current estimate as a rough estimate. However, I’m happy more people will get to be in the newest batch.

That would be correct IF the added lamps also have a relay. Don't add the ground from the added lamps to that wire unless you want to sizzle the Combo Meter.

That is correct. It's the relay that provides fused power to the cargo lamp. Notice that the wire to the switch is from the relay coil...

The OEM fog light mod I did for my SR I tapped off the ground pin of the cargo connector for the pin 26 to ground instead of running a separate ground wire. Also tapped the illumination pins.
Suggestion:You might consider tapping off all cargo connector pins and folks can use what they want and tape off or remove the ones they don’t.

I could do that, however the intention of this harness (before folks asked for custom stuff) is just to illuminate extra switches. I make these by hand and would prefer not to have to double crimp 6 pins for a breakout vs 2. That is unless people want a bit of an up charge. If it were a machine doing it it wouldn’t be that bad.
