    Good afternoon,

I’m going to purchase a TRD sport/PRO hood from the dealership and I want to make sure I don’t order extra or unnecessary parts that the dealer might tac on.

So my question is, do I only need these parts: hood, scoop and black vinyl that goes on top of the hood?

I figure it’ll be a direct swap using the same bolts, nuts etc?

    I own a 17 TRD OR.

    thank you guys in advance.

When you go to the body shop to have it painted you can decide if you want them to put the black vinyl on or not. Attaching hardware should be the same.

yeah I’d figure I can wait on the vinyl since there’s a lot of options out there.

I've been thinking about this, you going the dealership route for sure or are you talking to body shops as well?

You talking about going to the body shops and purchasing a hood from them? If that’s the case then no. Didn’t think about that

Yeah, can buy an unpainted hood for under $400 and then have it painted and installed by a body shop. You'll still need to get the scoop inserts and stuff.

I wouldn't see why not. Or can buy the inserts yourself. It all depends on how much the dealership wants to do it. If it's insanely high this might be the way to go.

Here is what I bought, mounting bolts are the same and you don’t need the labels.

thank you so much. This is what I needed. So don’t buy the bolts and what are “protectors?”.
How much did this cost you from the dealership?

Sorry for the confusion, but the bolts I was referring to are the ones that mount to the hinges. Buy the bolts on that list as they are for the scoop assemble. If I recall correctly, the protectors are foam strips.

I think I was around $750 for the hood, scoop assembly and the misc parts from local Toyota dealership.
