The passenger side was minimal. No issue.
The play was in the driver side by the pumpkin, best way I know to tell you location. It was a considerable difference.
He did say some play is normal as well, but thought this was a little excessive in his opinion. I haven’t had any popping I have noticed while turning which is usually a dead give away for the cv’s.
I know the cv’s are a weak point on the ifs but I am not a mechanic. Although the lift isn’t huge, but with the lift and heavier 33’s I can understand the possibility of wear.
I know people replace the needle bearings with the ECGS clam as well with the lifts and heavier components. If I go in, I want to do it as best I can.

I'd roll with it i doubt it's bad. The ECGS bushing is a good idea so that play could be coming from the bearing having slop which can seem like a CV potentially. Not saying it can't be a CV but I have one OE CV still from 05 with a torn outer boot and it gets the snot beat out of it. Where one of the aftermarket ones I got didn't hold up to much of what this one has and snapped. That CV has had a torn boot for a long time probably no grease left full of dirt and debris gets water in it constantly and takes the abuse of locked 35s and some bouncing. It's also got 250+k miles on it and has "some play"

107k on mine with zero issues. Lifted since 68k and 33’s or larger since 30k. Highly doubt they are bad because there was some play.

    Thanks! We didn’t know.
He noticed the play and just let me know from his experience. He hasn’t worked on very many Taco’s, just a gen2 for easy stuff and helped me get my suspension on, with my limited knowledge, from what I gather. I am happy he even took the time to check.
I haven’t had vibration since the lift and 255/85’s nor do I have the usual tell tell popping noise when turning. I also wasn’t leaking any diff fluids. He knows it goes off road a little, nothing crazy, and he was just helping look over while we were underneath.
He is a good person and just has his garage fixed up to do side work. I can change tires, fix flats, oil changes, and “very” minor mechanical work. He has a pump and I didn’t, and needed one for the front diff.

It's a good event put on by Titan Offroad club out of TN. The guys that run it are really good people. Its all types of vehicles from buggies to SxS and everything in between. It's more of a wheeler's event. No real major agenda to the event just have fun, hang out, and wheel.

I like it.. I don’t personally know a lot of people that share this passion for build, break, and repeat. I just enjoy being around other like minded people. Sounds like a good time.

bought the windrock maps last night to start my planning of trips :bananadance:

It's huge and don't expect to get everything done you want to. Last year there were a few flops and quite a bit of breakage

Yea it looks like you will be pulling winch a few times out there unless you just stay on the green! I’m doing CV’s, tie rods, LBJ, and hub assembly as part of maintenance this winter so I’ll have spares and knowledge to change them I’m almost at 200k on all factory front end parts. Rather not break something on the trail because i didn’t do my due diligence.

I've only once pulled winch and that was getting up and down a 5ft tall ledge on a double black off camber crazy trail. Everything else you can do without for the most part.

I’ve got sliders & full skids installed since URE in September. Just deciding on tire size/ how much cutting I want to do before I order some MT’s

    255’s were first thought

34x10.50 are what I’m leaning towards

@Sandman614 you have 255’s right? other than maybe a CMC and pinch weld what did you need?

I ran the 285/75R17s even with those I wanted a regear bad I'd stick with 33s if you want something wider get a 33x12.5 or like a 285/70r17 or 285/75r16. They'll do well you won't feel like you need more gear when cruising around or in 4lo. remember your tcase only has a 2.7:1 lo range so even with the 34s you're loosing quite a bit there with the 34s I definitely felt it on my truck. I did and you can do a shit ton on 33s it's only when you really want to get into some crazy ledges or undercuts and stuff that you really "need" the bigger tires.
