Do the 5vzfe fuel injectors have rubber inside?

Hi all, I did something maybe dumb. I sprayed throttle body cleaner on my injectors to clean them up. After my gloves somewhat disintegrated I realized that stuff must damage rubber (nitrile in my case) despite me reading it’s ok.

I can replace the o rings and the exterior seal on top no problem.

Is there any rubber inside the injector that I might have damaged?

Should I get new injectors or new o rings/seals for the exterior

Fuel is fairly nasty on its own, you didn't do any damage. Don't worry. There's just a pintle inside that won't be harmed.

If you did damage an injector it will flash a check engine light.

You should always change the upper and lower orings on injectors when you disturb them. It's not life or death but a really good habit for cheap.

If I reuse them I make sure to use a silicone based lube to ensure they are soft and seat properly.

    Thanks, that’s very reassuring.

My injectors are brown ones. I’m at 185k miles.

Do injectors typically last the life of the vehicle or are they expected to fail with age?

Should I replace them while I’m in there?

If so does anyone have recommendations on very high quality injectors, possibly cheaper than through Toyota?

5VZ injectors do fail, not often but I have changed a few sets in my career.

I wouldn't change them unless there was a misfire personally.

I don't have any suggests for brands, but I do advise to avoid buying remanufactured injectors. I've had to warranty them.

I would inspect them and see how they look . Mine were starting to crack at 207k, so I replaced them.

Beware that there are ton of counterfeit ones on the market. I got the Intermotor ones from rockauto and they seem to be legit. There are companies that rebuild them as well, but I'm drawing a blank on the name. @1997tacomav6 would know.
