I bought a ARE CX, haven't had issues with it, but I might want to stiffen it up a little.

Anyone mind posting pictures of the HD supports to give me ideas.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but it’s the best I could do in the dark. Basically the HD frame just ties in through the roof and transfers the weight of whatever is on your rack to the bed rails.

I have a CX as well, they are pretty stout even without the internal frame structure. What are you going to haul up there? I have bed stiffeners and have not hauled anything too heavy yet on top.

I'm really just looking at options..... We're moving to Colorado next year and I plan on soaking up all I can.

RTT might be in the cards.... I want a fast/comfortable sleep set up.

Mine stays empty most of the year, but I wanted to spend a little extra money and make sure that I did it right the first time. Nobody could give me a straight answer as far as putting a tent on the regular shell, so I figured I’d go the safer route and get the HD.
