Wisconsin Tacomas and bad financial advice

so... Are you going to swap it for army green? Or are you going to be responsible and keep the beautiful truck you have?

 

Oh I'm keeping it - with the amount of funds in mods alone, it wouldn't make sense to part with it financially.

That, and the truck and I have bonded irreconcilably.

 

It's more of a precaution than anything - I doubt it would give me issues, but better to get it done and out of the way.

 

Why did I just get my notice in the mail and that they’ll contact me when a fix is available? Why do they play these games? Did they contact you again when it was ready or did you contact the dealer?

 

If i got an offer for mine above the original value, it would be gonezo

This recall has been a shitshow.

I talked to the dealer to see if the fix was available and it was so they ordered the part. Couple weeks later i called to find out if it was in yet and they said it wasnt ordered since i didnt have an appointment scheduled.. called another dealer and they ordered the part, called me when it arrived and scheduled the install.

 

I haven’t looked into it yet. But just got my notice in the mail. Seems like they want to tell everyone so they don’t get in trouble, but don’t want to get flooded with service requests. Guess I’ll call the dealer one of these days and see if they give me the run around

 

For me, it was pretty straightforward - I received a mailed notice and called a fairly reputable dealer about it. They ordered the part, had it within a few days, and we scheduled the appointment for today, with a loaner vehicle at no cost.

No big deal, in my book.

 

It's kinda enticing, for sure. But, I've learned plenty about the vehicle over the past two years and ultimately bought it without the intention of selling.

That, and quicksand has been discontinued, which will help retain value down the road, should circumstances change.

 

If i were getting another tacoma, it would be army green. I had a 16 inferno and my 17 is quicksand.

 

I do like AG quite a bit - but quicksand has my heart.

If I really want to, I can always wrap it for a close color match at a later date.

 

If I were to get a new Taco, it would be Voodoo or AG

But we all know that Inferno was the best color, followed by Blazin Blue Pearl
