Throwing this out there again. I’m available to tinker on peoples trucks if anyone is feeling lazy, don’t want to get dirty, or are otherwise not so inclined as to do it themselves.

I’m done parting out the F350, so the lift is open.

Hey, figured this would be a good thread to post in with some PA questions.

We're moving from Arizona to PA in the next few months. We are originally from Delaware County, southwestern Philly burbs. For our move back, now that we have a baby and plan on more in the near future, we want to be somewhere close to our families and somewhere we can see ourselves staying put for 10 - 30 years. We are thinking we want to move to Bucks County, specifically Central Bucks School district and have been seeking out houses there for the past couple of months.

We are ready to buy there before selling here and originally had our hearts set on Doylestown. House supply is incredibly limited and anything decent is going same day for at or above asking, often waiving inspections. We found a house we love in Chalfont and it crosses off all of our wish list items. It is currently listed as 'coming soon' and will be active for offers on Friday. We have looked at several developments with Doylestown addresses, and this Chalfont is just as close to the actual borough of doylestown, which is our main draw for moving to the area (after the excellent schools).

My question is, for anyone familiar with central bucks area, is there that much of a difference living in Chalfont vs Doylestown if I'm the same distance from the borough of Doylestown? The kids would be going to different schools based on house location (Chalfont feeds to CB South High School, the areas of Doylestown we're looking at feed to CB East). Otherwise, is there anything in particular we should be looking out for? Any concerns with having a Chalfont address vs. a Doylestown address? The house we're looking at is basically located at the intersection of 202 and Bristol Rd Area. Other houses in Doylestown proper that we've liked were located in Cold Spring Hunt and Hearthstone developments.

    Thanks in advance!

Just responded to your other thread.
Realistically there’s not a ton of difference between Chalfont and Doylestown as far as the school district goes.
Pretty sure that CB is the 3rd largest SD in PA just behind Philadelphia and Upper Darby. My wife is a PCA for autistic kids at one of the elementary schools.

ultimately Bucks is a great place to live IMO. Fantastic history and easily accessible to both the beach and mountains. :D

there’s a good sized group of TW folks too!

pre-covid we planned many weekend get-togethers and I fully intend to resume that once this bullshit has subsided.

Update! Ordered at 11:45 on Friday, it’s 1:40 PM on Monday and still no shipping update. I emailed CS and asked if there was any way they’d be able to throw them out the door so I could pick them up today. They responded that unfortunately they still aren’t doing in person pickups. He red-flagged the order saying that customer is waiting on parts and they will ship in the next day or two....

    Awesome, thanks for the response.

My main question would be if we're looking to be in the CB school district, does it matter which town we target? Originally thought Doylestown or bust, but have been seeing homes that are just as close to the actual borough in Chalfont, Warrington, New Britain, etc that we like. Is there a stigma associated with any of the towns in CB or a downside to looking outside of Doylestown township? (The types of homes we're targeting (newer, larger) are not really available in the borough itself. Where we grew up in Delco, there was a town that fed into my school district that was not a desirable place to live, and had a very negative stigma attached to it, as the less nice place to grow up in the district.

The Boro is nothing but over priced old Row homes an twins that have been priced that way because yuppie’s moved in and drove the price through the roof.
The township has much nicer houses and “town” is easily accessible. But you didn’t hear that from me.

Yeah, We’re looking for larger houses on a little bit of land, built 1990ish or newer without septic or well water, so that put most of the matching search results in Doylestown Township (outside the Borough) or in Chalfont and warrington. Didn’t know if it made a difference between any of those CB towns if ones were more desirable than others.

Like I said in the other thread, if you can afford Buckingham then go for it. Realistically there isn't a "bad" area surrounding D-town, It's all pretty high middle class/ upper class area. Sneaking into Warrington there's a couple questionable town home developments but as a whole your picking a great area.
