Yes for an AT they are on par with others which is why I said mainly nitto. Plus a 255/80r17 there isn't a lot to choose from for tires. The falkens are heavier but the Cooper AT3 XLT in a 285/70r17 is 6 lbs ligher than the Toyo. So when you look to other tires with a more comparable tread pattern they are a bit on the heavier side. My old Duratracs were in the 285 was 40 something lbs load range E. All the 255/80r17 tires are heavy AF so those are some of the lightest in that size.

Owned by the same company that owns M/T and Dick Cepek. Decent budget MT tire.

My toyo MTs were utter horseshit, they didn't hook up on anything even at 2psi. Garbage tire, the only nice part was the side wall was like 3/4" thick. Pretty sure I could run over a landmine with them and still hold air.

My pro comps xtreme mt2s are pretty sweet!

I don't really know about the MTs I was strictly making reference to the ATs. I've heard the same thing with the Nitto MT they suck but supposedly get them out west with some traction and they do well.

ProComp I'm seeing more and more of out on the trails they seem like they are gaining some traction in the MTs.

Ahhh. I had a friend with the 40" kspec nittos and they worked pretty good on his FJ80. I do discount anything out west, my SSRs for example stuck to the rocks like glue in the black hills of SD, meanwhile back in indiana they couldn't even bite into a small rock ledge. I never would have run an procomp, but when the MT2s came out they intrigued me, I am pleased. Balanced out nice, work very well in rain at all speeds and worked good offroad, I haven't driven them in snow and at this point probably never will. I would rock them again, good road mannered MT IMO which is what needed. Curious to see how the sidewall holds up.

My Toyo MTs were awesome, but that was on my old dodge which had a lot more skinny pedal potential than our trucks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe it was the width on them or something but they didn't grip to shit even aired crazy low. They actually did ok on wet rocks, just really bad on everything else. Nice street tire tho.

I really enjoyed my dick cepek extreme country's in 255/85/16. A mud tire with somewhat of a center rib. mud and snow rated if I recall correctly. check them out.

I did do a CMC, I was running spacers as well which didnt help. no rub though.

Most likely has a lot to do with choice of wheels? What offset you running?

Those are the ones I have. Get some heat in them and they are really grippy on rock. Clear extremely well with mud and muck despite the tight tread blocks in the center, good side bite, really good road manners wet and dry.

Downside to these is I would have to commit to 285’s they don’t make a 255 on 16” wheel

Correct there isn't a lot of options in the 255/85R16 for much of any tire it's kinda going out the door.
