I just bought a used 2016 SR5 Tacoma, and I think the previous owner didn't remove their Entune account. Is there anyway for me to do this?

i believe if you have your own entune account, it will override the old one by downloading it.. also check your "app" settings..

The problem is that when I put in my VIN or scan it and let the app put it in, it says it's incorrect.

Which version Entune do you have?

You may not need to register for Entune to use it.

Only vehicles with the Entune Premium Audio System with Navigation and App Suite and Entune Premium JBL Audio system with Navigation and App Suite require you to register as they contain the "Entune® App Suite" which requires registration. Search for 'Entune' in your respective app store (Apple or Android) to download the Entune App. With the Entune App, you can register and link your 3rd party apps (Pandora, Movietickets.com, OpenTable, and Facebook Places), all via your mobile handset.

Pull it out and get a aftermarket CarPlay system.

Go into the settings on the radio and clear all personal date. It should kick out the entune account and allow yours to sync up.
    ..... I think

Does anyone actually use entune account ? I use the auto start and locking on our 2020 Tundra. Other than that it’s on CarPlay.

This. I got a new phone a few months ago and deleted the old account, then added a new one. Couldn’t transfer my apps over from old phone because it got dropped into a river

any chance you are in Hawaii, or did the truck originate from Hawaii. VIN does not register on trucks from Hawaii. we are in our own world out here. at least mine won't

I bought a '14 RAV Limited that still had saved addresses/contacts etc etc in it. I know that's not an 'account', but I followed the instructions in the owners manual to clear that all out and set up my own stuff.

I never use the NAV (despise it) so for me it's just an HD radio with bluetooth that I do get some benefit from. Especially at this time of year when Christmas music is overloaded, I use my own music if I'm going to be in the vehicle a while.

Nav and voice recognition are straight out of a bad comedy skit.
