Met with my chiropractor/pt today and she agrees it's diastasis recti. It's gone down significantly over the past few days but I can still feel separation of my abs when flexed. I also talked with a few other HW pro strongmen and they said it's an issue that us bigger guys have to stay one step ahead of. Having said that I still have an appointment with the surgeon on the 14th to completely rule out a hernia.

For now the plan is to keep the weight lighter and do things beltless while focusing on bracing and breathing. Also adding in lots of transverse abdominal exercises to strengthen everything back up.

At this point my January competition is looking like it's just gonna be for fun. I'm coming in fairly light, nursing multiple injuries, and with a shit prep so I doubt I'll take top 3-4. I'm gonna focus on rehab and health and go from there.

It does not. It feels weird being able to dig a finger in the separation of my abs but not painful.

When I tore my abdomen (like a 2in tear) it didnt really hurt that area it hurt in my back and other side of my stomach. Was wierd AF. The core is very odd.

So are they thinking with PT and rest it will heal on it own or basically you’ll learn to compensate around it?

A little both. It will always be separated now, as it's likely been for a while but it popped up recently from hitting heavy stuff for reps. Now it's just a matter of it separating further. I'll have to stay ahead of it and continue to strengthen my core and transverse abdominals to keep it from getting worse or causing a hernia.

That’s wild to hear you having to train core without it getting worse. I guess if it was easy then everyone would do it. You’re getting into big dog shit. Hope you stay healthy.

Yeah man, heavyweight strongman is brutal lol I'm learning it's a constant battle of trying to stay ahead of injuries to keep from destroying your body. The worst part is knowing that you can deadlift 700lbs+ or press a 340lb log but having to hold back and heal everything before you do it... Really messes with my head. I know what I can do if I push myself BUT I can't push myself yet... Fuckin sucks

Shit. Words probably can’t describe how Gabe felt whenever they pulled him cause of heart issues. He was probably ready to keep fighting. It’s hell when mentally you’re ready to go further than your body is.

Him, Bobby Thompson, Charles Mitchell, and Wesley Claborn are 4 of the 8 pro HWs who are competing at my comp in January. At this point I'm mainly going so I can hang out with them the whole time and learn lol

Has anyone in the history of the world ever told women TO lift heavy? Today I know and see many women killing it and lifting big and being praised (and also TROLLED constantly by internet trolls) for being strong and going against society's rigid image for a woman, but historically that hasn't been the norm.

After reading all this shit and catching up, lolz at the tuff little fukkr WITAF was that shit?!, I'm glad you're gonna keep pushing it. You're mental toughness that oozes off your posts in here is something that I have really enjoyed following and fed on to build my own motivation. Yeah, that's selfish, but damn dude, ima keep coming back just to soak up your determination and see your heart.

Ps when are you coming out with @Travish325 patented AB EXPLOSION workout plan??? Asking for a friend....
