Yeah please. I bought a filter cover , hope that helps. So when I’m coming off the highway onto the off ramp I usually put it in neutral and just coast. The off ramp is quite long so I’m still going rather fast. I just need to make sure I’m going less then 60ish or it’ll die right. Or just down shift. Please tell me you don’t throw any codes ......

I noted in the description of URD’s ad it said as of a certain date a few years ago that it now comes with it. Hopefully I have no problems

The filter cover definitely helps imo. Yes, you'd need to slow it down if in neutral or just downshift and that will keep it from dying. No codes normally here. When i was still running the UCon i had a couple of both banks stuck rich codes. But after resetting the battery they have never come back. That must've been over a year or so ago

Are you doing the regear for existing 285 tires or stepping up in size? What are you regearing too?

I miss my regear when I had 285’s. Truck felt fast and that was before the S/C.

Staying at 285’s.....going to a 4.30 gear. I contemplated 4.56 but I’d rather just go back to the stock feel

Lol......yes I’m getting a little more daring. The only one that is out of my comfort zone is the headers because of the o2 sims. I’m actually going to go back to a 2.8 once I have Justin help me with the hp. I figure I’ll get away from the wrap mod and put a little less stress on the stock tensioner. Play it safe. I’m not into cutting belts so I’d rather use a stock size. I honestly still believe I’m staying safe......at least that’s what I keep telling myself lol

I will have hp though at some point here soon. Can’t wait. I do have a somewhat custom tune from ov but because I couldn’t datalog, it is a safe tune just based off what I have on the truck. Hp obviously will be a more dialed in tune with data logging as Justin sees fit as well as eliminating the bogus stuff I don’t need ;)

Another question. I know this was a quick debate a while back. When I order my 2.8 quick change from smooth flow.........am I asking for a M90 or MP90 Magnuson blower pulley??

I always ask Nate for a 5 rib quickchange style pulley for the Tacoma TRD supercharger. He will know what you need and get you fixed up:thumbsup:

Here’s a pic of how I have the intake shield clocked. You can see the top part is turned further back towards the heat exchanger. When I first had it mounted I had that part straight up and down with the edge in the center. First time it rained the filter got soaked. If you clock it back, it should help the water run off and not onto the filter. I am running a Cali-raised fake TRD pro grille insert, and I didn’t have to cut anything for fitment for reference. My truck is a 2013

    B3CBDEA1-F4A7-4E86-B70E-90AD35524488.jpg

And here’s the hacked up bracket I made. I used a piece of scrap aluminum I had laying around which is why it’s not purty, but it works good. It’s literally just piece of flat bar with some holes drilled in it. As you can see the stock upper and lower brackets are both URD. I only changed the middle piece out to push it forward more. There is about a 1/4” of clearance between the filter and the heat exchanger.

Oh also during install, you will want to tighten up the piece of piping on the throttle body first, and then the front section near the grille second. This will allow you to hold the filter with one hand, ensuring it won’t rub on the heat exchanger, and then you can tighten up the last clamp in the middle (the one near the washer reservoir). In other words, the way you tighten up the clamps and where the piping is when you do so can also have an effect on clearance. Hope this helps some man, if you have any questions, feel free to shoot em my way

for a 6sp MT that is likely a good choice. If you were a AT I would have pushed for the 4.56. regear (no rear swingout) and OV Tune on N/A I almost feel the truck was faster than it is now at least but dyno effect.

So with the shield, you have the open end facing down right. As opposed to the open end towards the engine?

Thought about it but I probably won’t even though I’d love to. After talking to Justin, I was made aware that I in Illinois where I’m at I can only have safely have 1 “not ready” (which will go towards some engine clutter that I’d rather have out. If I did 2 “not readys” I’d be gambling on having problems. I like to play it safe as guys know....
