    Hi,

    I have a 2011 Tacoma and I would like to upgrade the multimedia if at all possible. As the trim piece appears to be one large all encompassing piece (including hazard lights), does anyone have experience with this?

    In terms of the replacement system, my ideal setup would have: Bluetooth phone, backup cam (already wired to the rearview mirror) and navigation.

    Is this upgrade possible?

    You just have to transfer the clock module to the new trim panel.

    Is this a pretty common mod? Are there photos of others installs? Is it possible to tie the backup cam into the new system instead of the rearview? What is the new trim panel needed to complete this?

    Yeah man, it’s all been done and it’s well documented here in the AV forum like Destin said. When you run into a roadblock let us know. I’ve done the Gen 2 replacement in my truck but I did not connect the rear camera to the new stereo so IDK that one off hand.

    I do recommend the iDatalink Maestro and a compatible aftermarket stereo. Dash kits come in a few colors and texture options.
