You are exactly right, not sure why I claimed the reverse, perhaps it's because I was in the middle of judging an art competition between my three young grandchildren while I was posting. :101010:

Its actually real leather where you sit. Sure its died and sealed with some shit, but still real leather. I dont think you can find modern vehicles with real "genuine/raw" leather. For example Nubuck is 100% real leather but its absolutely the worst material to get. You cannot clean it, it is impossible. None of the car manufacturers offer Nubuck.

Really, interesting, thought it was all fake, cool beans. I just know after having vehicles with and without it's way easier to maintain than cloth. The cloth seats in the 2nd gen TRDs you'd spill water on and they'd stain. Ever seen a steam vac'd cloth seat after a year or two, its pretty freaking nasty.

I wish that they would make the SofTex from the 4R SR5 premium available on the Tacoma..

Not leather....but easy to take care of and wears much better.

Bolsters and the back of seats are synthetic yes. Definetily leather is easier to clean. If you want cloth to look good, In my professional opinion (I work for professional cleaning/restoration company) you have to do hot water extraction cleaning, followed by scotchguard application every 4-6 months. The interior in my ranger looked brand new for a 7 year old vehicle with 140k miles. Well except for that tiny burn mark from my smoking days.;)

Corrrect sir. My truck was "mazda b4000" equivalent to Ford ranger Fx4. I got all my parts from Ford dealer and always said i had Ranger FX4. Man i miss that truck so bad, i wish i could have kept it and made it into a bush truck. Im so paranoid taking my 50k taco into the bush, but what do you do.

It was an amazing vehicle. I pretty much broke even selling it 7 years later. Every time i see a ford/mazda truck, It really brings me good memories haha.

I loved the Softex in my 4Runner. I was hoping that’s what would be in the Tacomas. No dice. Damn. That’s really what converted me to leather/ pseudo-leather only.

I thought the Premium package was worth it. However in Gulf States, that meant also getting Advanced Tech and the LED package. So...I also had to think the other options ($6k total) were worth it.

Nope, with a PRO yes those are standard options (which I see you have) but even in GST cartel land you can option a premium TRD OR or Sport w/out advanced Tech or LEDs, I know a few guys in the 2020 price forum were struggling to find LED optioned trucks but had Prem and Adv tech.

(example of one without advanced tech: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/831012827/overview/)

Oh. Interesting. The only ones I’ve seen available were all 3. And a couple dealers said GST was only getting them built up that way. In the end, it didn’t matter for me.

Ya, GST is the worst as far as region distributers, have heard all kinds of stories, but ya you got a PRO doesnt even matter. Lol.

Yeah I hate leather in anything but an Audi or BMW. Even worse in a pickup truck. Personally I would pass.

We got leather because it came with it and we like it.

    Granted an OR/DCSB '19

Personally, if it is a 3k option on and SR5 (dont know) but that would be a huge expense and I would put it towards something else you may like.

However, to the "leathahhh haytahhhs" (Bostonian accent :) )

We love it on our Tacoma.

The funny thing is, everybody complains that modern cars have sealed leather. If the cars came with raw leather seats, 90% of the people would crack them in a year or so. Raw leader requires tremendous care, especially inside a car that experiences heat swings of more than 50 degrees, UV, rough pants, etc.
