    I had adequate cans of Revision DIPA on hand. My bullshit problem turned out to be wearing a Fleece garment that was showered with steel shavings from excess use of the grinder, and that garment was thrown out. serves me right for not dressing for success. I annoyed my neighbors because I have a foul mouth and i worked on this project in the street for more than two days. If your cool you'll get this done in a few hours.

    Plasma cutter makes everything so much easier and faster. It’s not terribly difficult, it’s just monotonous grinding and drilling. Earplugs are a good idea too.

    Makes sense, wear shitty clothes, & I luckily have a garage i can fit in, its cold AF in Utah rn so i'll be pumping the heater no doubt. Thanks!

    Did a hard ponder on a plasma rental, have a local Sunbelt Rentals that'll rent them out for $65 a day.. but i think im going with the grind and grade 8 bolt/press technique because that shits sitting in the toolbox. Also have some step drill bits on standby. & earplugs is solid advice thanks!

    You're good. Drill/grind the heads off and punch them through. A lot of folks in this thread make it out to be way more difficult then it really is. Certain rivets are easier with the grinder, others easier with drill bits/step drill. Dealer's choice! :cheers:

    I ground down the rivets then hit the stock hangers with a bfh. Ground them down again then plasma and an air hammer. Still have to drill the holes for the new hardware.

    Go to Autzone and rent a balljoint press kit.

    Drink a beer

    Grind the rivets flat

    Drink a beer

    Use a short 1/2" bolt to press the body of the rivet out

    Drink a beer

    Bolt up you new shackle hangers

    Yell at your "helper" who emptied the beer fridge while you were working.

    The install isn't THAT bad to the point where you need a plasma/liquid wrench. Would it make it easier? Sure. Taking your time and many hands make light work.

    Having use a plasma and a ball joint press to take those rivets out: the press is easier and more pleasant.

    Cutting blind holts with a plasma in a confined space sucks.
