I pulled 6k every day for a few weeks and the engine never made any different noises.

Have you made modifications? Have you wheeled your truck hard?

You also have to think that on tacoma world, one of the largest car enthusiasts websites, you are going to hear about those 1 off incidents, like the 300 mile engine you referenced. Obviously that is an outlier. Fact of the matter is most, nearly all, 3rd gen owners have no problems and their vehicles don't require anything more than normal maintenance.

The highest mileage 3rd Gen I've ever seen in person was a 2016 that had around 120K miles in 2018 or possibly early 2019...

I met the owner in the parking lot of the Wawa on Main Street in Doylestown Borough, and he was from New Jersey; He was a contractor or tradesman of some sort and he drove A LOT for work. He said he absolutely loved the truck and had so far had no problems with it.

I live in Western Colorado and while we have a small grocery store in our town and luckily I work here too but Costco is almost 40 miles and the next 'big' town is 15 miles each way. Although it's 5 miles to National Forest so that's a trade off. Throw in some road trips to see other cool shit across the state and out to Utah and WY and everywhere it certainly adds up! Almost 8000 miles, bought my truck new in March.

There are three V6 3rd gens with over 196k for sale on cars.com as of this moment. There's a 4th but it's obviously a fat-finger mistake by checking the dash photo.

And look at those used prices!!! I don't care how dependable a truck is, I'm not dropping 26k on a truck with almost 200k miles.

Classic. OP asks about high miles and the thread devolves into people posting about their 5 digit mileage.

In all fairness, in post #73 the OP said: "I do I notice my valves starving for oil every once in a while with my engine and manual transmission which is why i made this thread." So even he seems to have lost track . . .

Commercial cleaning route across a couple states.

Officially passed 310,000 miles. I've not seen an odo picture yet of higher miles on third generation.

Maybe some early fleet trucks might have me beat idk.

My mileage per month will be dropping quite a bit from the 1k a week I was generally doing, because of a loss in work. Some of the other guys on here that do a lot might catch me.

Very cool about the mileage. Sucks about the work situation, 2021 has to be better. Are you 4 or 6 cylinder?

I am pretty sure his truck is a 4 banger. That engine is probably more likely to go the distance vs the 6 cylinder. If the V6 lasts 300k mi without blowing up I would feel like I did well.

2016 Taco @ 180k, oil frequently between 10-15k , tires x3, front brakes. At 160 I had all fluids drained and full service as recommended by dealer, cost about $1800. Runs great.

    Check build thread!
Guess I'll just turn a blind eye to the 300k tacoma with a 3.5 we just had in. And the sienna with well over 450k.
