If only there was a silver stanchion fork that wasn't Walmart grade dog shit, I'd go full hog.

Tough call. I'm thinking either black, anodized purple, silver, or gold; and then swapping out the stickers on the fork to match, of course. Personally leaning toward the purple.

Either way, that is going to be a fun build.

You and I are on the same wavelength. Black is the safe and understated option. Purple is the retro 90s British hell yeah option! Silver would match the MG, but I'd started getting the wheels spinning on gold.

I could get one of the local decal guys to bang me out a set of Fox graphics but instead of the Fox in orange use the Union Jack. Oh damn, I think I just decided on a fork.

yeah. if I were looking for a 1-bike quiver. this would slot real nicely into that spot. I've got my short travel and my long travel for now. we'll see how i feel in a few years though. but this bike could check a lot of people's boxes for them.

From my BMX days I always did black everything. Red pedals. Green grips. When you're desperately looking for where your feet need to be or your hands need to go, that back of the mind instinct "Red feet green hands" has saved my bacon a ton of times. Could have been some pretty bad diggers. So, I'm of the function over fashion standpoint. Everything on my bike was black or subdued colors (I think I had a very dark grey fork at one time). And chrome rims (rim brakes), otherwise it was all black.

These are full suspension bikes here, but the images are pretty sweet to see. Wheels compress. A lot. Even my 110 PSI BMX wheels took a lot of impact absorption. The flex in the components + grip squishy + wheel squishy is all that stood between my spine and pavement so, there's actually some pretty cool science to that kind of stuff.

Gold would get my vote. Too bad they don't have a darker gold that would match the Kashima.

Forgive me if I just have my head in the sand, but are there many fork options available that are straight 1 1/8”?

Kinda thought most everything was tapered these days.

The frame uses external headset cups (as do most steel frames) so the taper bit is outside the headtube.

more lower end forks are straight. usually less travel. the fox performance xc fork is straight, so is a rockshox recon. not gonna be doing big hits with it.

or there are things im missing and i would like to learn more
