Having a great season so far in Michigan

Bow buck. Usually I pass on this size of a buck, but my freezer was getting empty and my kids have been jonesing for me to get a deer. So I made this a family affair, after I shot him I called the wife and bundled the kids up to help recover him. This has to be my most memorable hunt and a trophy in my book haha!


Then gun season hit here in MI, and shot this guy crossing the swamp at 40yd.


My wife has two buck tags left to hopefully get her first deer, food sources are getting limited and days are getting shorter. We hope this old boy makes a mistake.


And I have a few doe tags to fill. Good luck to you all still on the hunt!

Cole and I slipped in on an evening hunt and an owl just sat down in a tree about 135 yards away. I told him to watch it, he may never see another one.

 

Looks like a barn owl. Cool to see. Good luck hunting!

 

I told him in my 45 years I’ve only seen 2 other ones in the wild. He’s loving it.

 

Go out just before dawn and hit an owl hooter like u would to locate a gobbler
I bet one or two will land in a tree next to you lol

 

A nice start to my Axis deer wall. I’ve got a pair of axis sheds that I’m going to incorporate into a shelf on either side of this

 

So I live in a residential area and the deer are unfazed by humans and dogs. They will come right up to the house and eat the flowers out of the flower beds touching the house. Open the door and yell at them or let the dog out and they just stand there and dont move an inch. Anyways heres a buck I saw 2 streets over on the way home from work behind a school and a public library living in my neighborhood .its a small patch of trees here next to the neighbors yard.Hes untouchable. I go hunting about 30 mins away from where I live. Wish I could get em right in my back yard.

This picture is misleading, that grass is some ones yard and theres literally a tiny little patch of trees right here then houses on all sides. As soon as someone saw a crossbow or you dragging out or a wounded buck the police would be called. Hes literally in a neighbor hood. Hes so out of place when I drove by I thought it was an archery target because of where he was and the neighborhood being so dense.

In St. Louis there are a lot of city’s that permit bow hunting on private land. Might be worth checking into. Seek One on YouTube and Instagram kills monsters (180+) in urban areas year after year. In some areas it is easier than you would think to get permission if

One landed 50 feet or so from me the other day while out. I might have been on my phone and not noticed till it flew off

yeah, you wont hear one gliding thru the woods, life is short, put yer damn phone down whilst sitting with nature, ..you will be surprised on what you see...
