Here's a pretty good visual of an external lower cup and where the taper section would be.

Am I looking at that right, it's integrated top and press fit bottom?

Man, y'all MTB world got me all turned around! I know so much about BMX and so little about elsewhere

In this case, you are seeing it correctly.

There's varieties of external top, internal top, external bottom, and internal bottom. Headsets can use any of the above in any combination if they so choose.

The black has been done. Be different. You wear the wildest clothes why would you stay so subtle with black? I like the silver idea, but also think a bronze or gold would be sick.

    Carnage on the mountain, today.
Perfect 60° day with few out due to it being a week day. Glad I got the goods today, tomorrow a cold front is coming in with snow in the forecast.

I did have one little mishap in a rock garden.

I also tweaked the end of my left hand ring finger. Crushed it between a boulder and the bars upon impact. I think it will be fine in time, just bruised. My body is already feeling the fall. Work tomorrow should be lovely. A stupid move on my part, not really on my game and the front tire washed out over a very lose rock garden.

Looks like the bike survived! Wet, bloody and muddy as they say in my part of the woods (Maryland).

Nothing worse than a gnarly crash when your riding solo. I was bombing a downhill solo out west in
mountains just west of Las Vegas. I high sided the bike shooting out of a turn and launch myself into
some big ass boulders. Completely destroyed my helmet. One of my best mtn bike crashes ever. :bikewhoops:

todays downhill rigs are pretty much motocross bikes without the engines. back in the 90's I would race
my XC bike in dual slalom and downhill on Saturday and Cross Country on Sundays. All I ever needed to
do was lower my seat post. :D

Silver. Silver hubs, calipers, pedals, and stem. That's it.

Lol, I make that climb maaaybe 1 out of 3 times. It hurts.

The more I thought about this last night, the more I arrived at this conclusion.

44 vs 51 offset is what I'm debating now. 65* HA 120mm fork on a 29er. Their rigid fork spec is 47mm so dead in the middle. Leaning towards 51 so I can get a little more agility back vs just having a tractor to plow over everything. I have a Sentinel to do that. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Yep, that is almost exactly what I'm running on my hardtail. I've been debating going up a cm or two on the fork, but haven't made that move yet. It's a very nice change of pace from my Rallon, but you have to remember to adjust your riding style accordingly. I've taco'd a front wheel because I was riding the hardtail like it was an enduro bike.

Deity BRONZE with that vintage green frame would look so good. Gold gets my vote for 2nd place.

There's only one big issue with bronze -- most of the larger bronze components from Deity and Nukeproof are sold out globally at the moment (pedals, headsets, etc). Ask me how I know...

I'm now leaning more toward gold as my vote for his build, as well. Will be cool to see what he ultimately decides.

Bronze would look amazing on that green frame.

RaceFace Kashmoney stems seem to be in bronze color wheel. Availability may be just as scarce as others though. And if you're wanting to be full on matchy matchy that color may not be available on other RF contact components.
