This hurts. The heated JW Speaker J3. Color output and technology is amazing. Output intensity not so much.

Nice! Excited to see how they perform. Any chance of doing a comparison against the DDM Saber Pro Series LEDs? They are rated at 6k, but I've read they come in close to 5,250k.

The 2.0 fans are a bit noisy, would you be able to comment on the upgraded fan and noise?

Multiple low beam projectors and multiple high beam projectors, DRL and signal, plus a dedicated off road use wide angle foreground light, lens heaters, blue tooth control for adjusting off road mode beam patterns and intensities, the lights can receive updates via bluetooth plus some other smartphone enabled features. So yeah, they definitely have a lot going on. Love the 4500k color, just wish output intensity was significantly better.

If someone lends them to me I can include them. They don't appear as thin as Hikari or Morimotos latest though, which can be hard to say for certain, and their website is full of the usual misleading way over promised product performance specs listing all theoretical performance but no actual performance values which will be far less.

Definitely will comment on fan noise. Should be interesting with a fully sealed fan system, I'd expect it to be quieter than most. I don't have the 2.0s anymore as those were not a good product design and I don't recommend them so I cannot make a direct comparison to the 2.0s. But I can evaluate against the Hikaris.

Nah, that's a Morimoto XB LED headlight. @crashnburn80 tested them previously, but they just launched a Gen 2 with some improvements (or so we will find out)

Got bored at work today and converted mine over to the H9 Phillips (Germany version). Took me like 10 minutes with a utility knife and not having a clue what I was doing lol they look brighter, although it could be placebo effect and my mind playing games on me. Next week the SS3 Pros will arrive and be installed to compliment!

I'm just guessing, but I think the low-beam output will be similar, but the XB's historically suck at high beam projection. Plus in The Retrofit Source's promo video, they mention "increased foreground light" which is something you don't want when it comes to distance projection. A lot of users on the site say they have the "brightest lights" but it's just because of more light being projected onto the road directly in front of the vehicle with no real distance projection. AlphaRex is notoriously bad for this.

I'd rather have quantitative data than subjective data/qualitative data from various photos and people's eyes.

Gen 2 Morimotos. The design uses 3 low beam projectors vs Gen 1s 2 low beam projectors. And rather than a single dedicated high beam projector, the Gen 2 runs two bi-projector high beams. Gen 2 claims improved performance over Gen 1. Morimoto said based on feedback they decided to improve the output. Curious who else pointed out the performance of Gen 1 needed improvement... I anticipate they targeted out performing the OEM LEDs, which were released after the original Gen 1s and took some of the appeal out of the Morimoto units, being OEM performed better. I ordered the first set of Gen2s once they were available, just like I did with Gen1.

Yeah that foreground light comment is very concerning. The Gen1 had a good low beam, it would be a terrible decision to increase foreground light to “compete” with an illegitimate product like AlphaRex. This is what you get when youtubers do lighting reviews and point out how much brighter the foreground light looks, so the headlight with more perceived light (foreground) must be better.

I’m betting on disappointing numbers from both Morimoto products, continuing a general theme of other recent product disappointments.

Your Hikaris at least don’t have a large marge arse plus junk in the trunk downstream :)

Fun part of me potentially being wrong is we can all spend more money on lighting products we don’t need. :)

Less certain on the XBs, but focus is the single most important factor in a replacement LED and the new Morimoto design looks more promising than anything else on the market. Of course, measured data is the real determining decider so TBD.
