Oh man do I understand that pain. I'm excited for the new truck, but I also want to keep rebuilding the spare engine for boooost! I'm thinking of trying out a wet kit on the stock engine in the truck once the improved engine is ready to replace it...

Didn't like exposed oiled filter with K&N setup having just the divider wall deal, didn't like no support for intake tube between TB and filter box on the Volant setup. Also Volant tube didn't provide mounting point for some vacuum thing like oem and K&N tube did. aFe was for the dry washable filter. The ramair part collected too many airborn objects in filter box. The Volant box also breathes thru oem wheel well port. So I combined the best of both setups with a dry filter.

Also ran the LCE header for 8 yrs or so before it cracked at collector nugget. Had it welded back up but needs recoating. Also had Gibson catback and tooter intake spacer. Went all the way back stock with only aFe drop in during chasing the header leak. Had to replace cat, went with Bosal replacement. That's where she is now. Seems to like being back stock too, smoother, quieter and seems to be 2-3 mpg better on tank of gas. Just leaving it alone and driving it. It made it to 200k so it deserves some slack...............

This looks fantastic, the truck I'm getting has the K&N setup on it right now, how much did the volant filter box run?

Yeah the leak at the header has haunted me as well, but mine isn’t cracked, just that stupid spring clamp design.

My plan at some point is to cut those flanges off, and weld on some v-band flanges and a flex pipe. I have chased lean AFRs in the past and it ended up being that stupid gasket leaking. So frustrating to have the primary AFR sensor downstream of that.

What were your thoughts on the Gibson catback? I was looking for one of those at one point but couldn’t track one down.

@Torspd What do you need to come up with a turbo header? A truck with the engine in it? Or measurements of the space available with the engine in the truck?

Thanks man! I will have to get your help with this once I get everything together

I am running the LCE header and I think the collector flange is steel. Is there any issue welding 304 stainless to that?

Thanks to BassAckwards, I have a header to get flanges made from. Then hopefully soon I can use my friend's truck for mock-up.

That's awesome! I've got an entire spare engine lying in various bits of my garage basement, not to mention the new truck coming I can use for measurements if needed. This is to say- I'm happy to use my scattered parts to help how I can!

This is just the block and head. Intake and exhaust and accessories is all in bins in my garage too. Nicely labeled I might add! 42611C13-303C-41E9-86F3-F3E6BFAC979C.jpg

I liked the sound, gave it a cool gurgle with the header and intake. Mine is in the attic and ready for meetup for you to score from me,lol. Also I think Summit has new ones for $275. I would let mine go much cheaper than that and save shipping cost.

I paid like 120 and 100 for the k&n and volant intakes used and tried them both then did my thing with them. Only mod was shortening then k&n tube slightly to make it right length to position the afe filter in the box correctly. Sold the ram air part awhile back.

I gifted my used tooter spacer when going back stock but just happen to have new uninstalled one. Also a never installed urd maf calibrator, the used KVA intake in pic above with filter, gibson rc catback and the LCE repaired header that I will be making a fs thread about complete with pics all compliantlike....will be considering package savings and or trade for 040 skewpt hood, lol........this is the head's up post. Preference will be given for meetup sales to sidestep shipping. Won't be shipping catback for sure. Advantage TX residents.

Yeah, maf calibrator, im spacer, header & wbO2 are not unshippable, just added cost. The intake stuff wouldn't be that heavy but would be big box and extra shipping due to size. The catback had some miles on it and is in one piece so that is mostly a meetup item. Not sure I could even get it separated at this point. I don't live in rust area but when I had all this on the truck it was getting a lot of 85 on the frwy for 80 miles a day. Muffler still in good shape. It is the aluminized version, not the stainless version.

IIRC, the wbO2 is Innovate LC-2. I will put hands on it and give more detail. Also provide current pics with signage to be all correct and such before any possible transaction.
