On my truck, that device (I have one similar) reads 0.2v lower than what the input voltage is at the battery, so just be aware of the fact that what you are seeing on there is not what may be going into the battery. The only way to really know what your battery is charging at is with a multimeter at the terminals. Mine is, thankfully, consistently 0.2v across the entire range, so I just mentally add that in the cab.

I've started a thread for this with the settings I've used.

I also am experiencing this as well. Is there an explanation for this? Is there a way for me to translate the settings everyone else is providing into something that fits the limited configuration options we have? I'm running 04B81.

I haven’t looked at the 2020s yet but I’m sure they correlate. Post a pic of the list of tables.

It’s where the vF stuff is going to land.. since there’s platforms other than the Tacoma. Then they are all in one place.

Here you go. If this isn't what you're looking for let me know and I can take another screenshot.

I should note I've modified some of those values but I figured the tables are what's actually relevant.

You probably need to wait for the updated vF to have more tables.. there should be quite a few more duty cycle tables.

I believe base phase duty is the only one of those that’s modified in other ecus I’ve done. The others listed are in the other ecus too and not modified.

    Dave,

    I've sent you a message...

Note that you only need to change the base graph area and not any others. I agree with @Shellshock that a new version of VFT will probably reveal more tables.

Also note that I believe the values should be the inverse of what you have.. As temperature increases voltage needs to decrease.

My values are below and result in a 14.7 initial and will transition to 14.4 - 14.6

    95 95 95 95 92 90.5 88.5 87.5 87.5

My battery is a Group 31 Odyssey

I might need to go to (94's) during the summer months as I've not been able to test this with some heat under the hood.

    Hope this helps ~

    John

I’ve got mine set across the board at 94 and its been consistent at 14.4-5v. I’ve been going to taper it off on the top end but havent gotten around to changing it.

That does seem like a perfect charge voltage for the AGM and I'm sure the alternator will decrease it when it deems it getting "full"

My longest drive has just been 4 hours, but it did taper. I'm not sure you need it to do that, but I wouldn't want people baking the battery at higher temps, so for me its more of a safety factor until I get some hot summer days here in Alabama to test it..

Appreciate all the work you have put into the AGM tuning !!

    Cheers,

    J

Hey John - are you saying you only need to change the base phase duty values (temperature dependent values) and that you don't need to change any of the other phase duty constants?

FWIW I tried a slightly different approach on the temperature dependent values and just added 4% to all the numbers from stock. So far that seems to be working well w/14.4-14.6V but I haven't put a ton of time on it yet.

The base phase duty controls the voltage output, but you need to raise the phase duties to support the additional output

For the 2020 and above "Yes" at this time.... The VFtuner has a limited amount of tables for adjustment, but this might change in future releases / updated of VFT.. Looks like the lower years (2018 and below have a bunch of other tables to play with.

And yes, I initially did the same thing, but then went in and bumped some of the other values as temp increased to maintain a base of 14.4v~

    Glad its working for you.

    Cheers,

    john~
