Now i know everybody wants to disagree with me and maybe i am wrong but i thing my fuel wont pump because i disconnected some of the electrical components in the center of my dash. I replaced the pump because i thought that had to be it. Nope. I have tested every relay and fuse in my truck, theyre all good. I removed my starter relay to see if i could hear the pump in case it could be a clog and no sound. I am no expert but even the guys that know more than I are stumped. I dont want to have to pay a huge cost for something that may not even be the problem. Any Ideas? I know this forum has helped me through hell and high waters. I believe in you guys

I disconnected the passenger airbag on/off key switch, stereo, and the three 12v ports. I heard that this shouldnt interfere with it and the timing of me messing with it might be a coincidence. I hooked everything back up but the 12v ports

I don’t know what the problem is but I’ll throw this out. I had a Jaguar awhile ago and one of the built in safety factors was if in an accident and the airbags deployed it automatically shut off the fuel. I’m wondering if the Tacoma has something similar and when you disconnected the air bag you somehow affected the fuel pump.

Just how did you get to this point?

Maybe your poking around under the dash you knocked the circuit opening relay loose hence no fuel.

Anything you disconnected on purpose should not effect the engine running Odin knows what you might have done and have no idea.

FYI my whole air bag system was removed when I bought the truck

I was taking the front part off, looking for a good place to possibly mount a switchboard with 12v and usb ports. Disconnected the radio, 12v sockets and the passenger air bag key switch so i could move stuff out of my way. Though maybe i could get a better idea. Entrrtained the idea of removing my passenger air bag completely. Which i would still like to do. Maybe its not interfering but i cant think of anything else to get the fuel pump to turn on

Here's an odd thought: Did you remove the driver's side kick panel or plastic floor runner? The fuel pump wire runs through there.

I took that part off after the problem started. Its good to know thats where the wires are though because now i can test the pump without having to drop the tank. A friend is coming over this weekend to help me tryn identify the problem. I will post the solution if we find one

Your driving down the road or the truck is parked and the fuel pump quit?? Now it will crank but not start?

You installed a new pump (what brand) possible bad pump out of the box? never testing anything while apart.

Were you able to pull any codes?

How many miles on the Fuel Pump ??

You have looked for Physical damage to the wire harness going to the fuel pump?

The new pump just plugged in or you had to splice the harness together?

Ya. I actually had a switch wired there for a bit, and later had my ECU fuse blowing (and truck dying after 3 seconds) because unbeknownst to me, it was shorting on the chassis lol

Ya, electronics can be weird. I ordered a power probe on Amazon but might use my friends if i can this weekend. Hopefully i get this figured out and solved then.
