    It’s an OX locker, which is one of the reasons I went with the Dana 60. They use a cable to actuate the locking fork that’s integrated into the cover. You can manually toggle the cable, air actuate it or electrically actuate. I have an electric actuator. It’s not connected in the picture above. The locker is super simple and very reliable. You can also use a bolt to lock the diff if the cable ever fails for some reason.

    that one area I'm not comfortable with either. I know seasoned mechanics that still like to leave gears to someone that focuses on them. I would like to nail it sooner or later myself. If you have the time and patience go for it. You won't know until you try.

    I'm quite well versed in eyeballing rear end setups.....just not of the automotive kind.

    I'll leave the 4.10/4.30 gears and Trutrac to the pros.

    ha that's my take too but would be nice to know how but some things you have to let others tackle. I keep going back and forth on doing the valve body upgrade on the transmission. Likely will do it but transmission work is new for me too.

    I’m considering the same with the valve body upgrade. I haven’t been insie the transmission yet, but I’m due for a flush/screen replacement so I will already have it open and right there.

    Yeah, exactly my point. I am overdue for the drain/fill/filter. Trucks starting to not shift great anymore as well. It does not seem too hard if you read through the how to's the guys have posted and videos that IPT has. Just do not lose anything =)

    Just ordered some Amsoil Signature Trans Fluid and have the Ratiotek I got from @DocME
