I'd love to see them do it Chevy Volt style.

Although I could totally see myself building an offroad trailer with a built in generator. Hmmmm.

Every form of energy has downsides. There are no choices, only tradeoffs.

A charging station in the middle of nowhere ought to be pretty easy, wires don't usually leak.

Some of the guys in west TX that raise cattle, have cell phone towers, oil wells and wind turbines all on the same land are totally set.

We should just do what they did in the TV show The Last Ship when the flu pandemic took out most of the world's population (foreshadowing anyone?), use the dead bodies to fuel the power plants.

When you start running low on bodies, well...you make more

They do require poles or ditch witching though, neither of which are particularly friendly. But I get it, gas has grandfathered infrastructure and this new garbage had to have something cause at home charging doesn't really apply to an adventure vehicle like it does to the scrubs that commute in their appliances.

Yeah, short of a charging station that unfolds out of a shipping container, its gonna be tough to be zero impact entirely. But I think we crossed that bridge a long time ago as humans.

I'm really curious to see where electric cars go. I love the idea - more efficent, less mechanical parts. But at the cost of more complicated electronics and batteries with questionable materials politics, and it seems like most manufacturers can't resist the urge to nanny the shit out of every vehicle., which I hate.

I've been tossing around the idea of electrifying my taco someday. It would be a fun project, and that vehicle is as complicated as I ever want - power nothing, automatic nothing.
