That seems a awful steep. Install is probably 30-60 minutes doing it yourself. @Tigerian had one of those on his truck.

Something like that probably just requires a couple sockets and wrench. You could pick up the tools for $20-30 from Harbor Freight I bet. Again it depends on your ability, comfort level, and how much the money personally means to you and your budget. That being said, $200-400 seems really high, especially if you are supplying the cover yourself. I'd think you could go to a place and buy a new tonneau for that price that includes installation.

If that's all it takes then I may look more into it.

I spent $450 for the cover, so that install price seemed rather high to me. Never done anything like this, do smaller electronic things but never anything related to vehicles.

It basically just bolts into the track system. You only need a couple basic tools

Can confirm. It’s really simple. I would rather spend the money on the couple of tools you need to do it than spend $200-$400 to have some one do it for you.

If I mess anything up I might try reaching out. I'm in the Minneapolis area-ish (out in the western burbs).

    Hey Gang,
Just moved to Duluth about a month ago. Sold my 02 Xtra cab and picked up an 09 Access cab just before I moved here. Still working out some kinks on it but it's been a good rig so far!

I got bored, got up before sunrise, and went up north to the Iron Range on a solo road trip.

Money Talks is the name of this trail. It was talking to me today. I did some damage to both passenger side doors trying to get down a snow covered steep hairpin corner with a bolder in the middle and a tree root filled dirt wall on the other (not pictured). My plan was to pivot ok my rock slider, but I didn’t take into consideration how much the truck would tilt and push my door into a tree root until it was too late. A spotter probably would have saved me. I ended up having to drive right over the boulder I was trying to avoid. It made a lot of noise but no visible damage. I’m pretty amazed my truck is not still stuck on top of it.

Not today. I have yet to get stuck enough to need help up on the Iron Range. I’m sure it will happen some day. There were only a few others out there today. I might have been waiting a while.

Those are my 2nd set of doors. I’m going to touch em up so they don’t rust and then wear them.

I think what did me in is that last time I was there I watched several Jeep Wranglers take the same line. The fault with my plan is that the taco is a lot longer than a wrangler. Hah! I envy their turning radius, but then why make it too easy? I like challenges.
