No it isn't. It's 24 years old and lives above the snow line. find me a 24-year-old Ram that doesn't have rust issues that lives in the same area. Also you had multiple offers to buy that truck out from under you before it causes any issues

Like this (not my pic)? I'm pretty sure I wrecked one almost exactly like this with a dumping flatbed at a job I had years ago. It was garbage before I wrecked it and it was less than 10 years old.

 

Find me a 10 year old ford / Chevy / dodge that doesnt have the bed sides rusting out..

 

Always gets me how bad the rockers get so quick.

 

i have not had the opportunity to goto the local salvage yards where they have ~20 Dakotas from the 90s in stock and see if i can just push my finger through the crusty frames like i could with several tacos i have checked out there this past year

 

You don't need to go to a salvage yard to push a finger through the frame on a Dodge.

also, I hope your tetanus shots are up to date if you're doing that in your spare time

 

Here's the frame a 42 year old Ford I used to own; had been primarily an Iowa and Missouri truck since new. It doesn't have front floorboards anymore, but somehow the bed was virtually rust free and original. Other than looking like hell with surface rust, there were no rust holes or structurally damage anywhere on the frame. Self-preservation from the gear train probably didn't hurt...


Just stirring the pot...

 

Had an 84 C10 That was like that. Massive thick frame rails, rust for days but none of its structural, all the welds and seams were just fine.

 

You should see my ford. It's pretty bad
