I turned 54 a month ago. I bought my first Tacoma new in 2018. I don't get any weird looks but I got a "Sup bro?" from a mid-20s guy at a gas station a couple of days ago. We were both driving Tacomas

I am 61 and retiring in sept 2021. Always drove GMC trucks. A guy at work said to look at Tacomas. Glad I did. Best truck on the market! Have never had any funny looks. I think it’s because they are looking at the truck and not me!

I'm 69, those step rails below the door sides are almost useless but I get in the Tacoma with some effort. Mine's just a regular 2WD with stock suspension. No strange looks and I wouldn't care anyways...I love the truck and I'm making some small dyi mods like a young buck just cause I can. Can't wait to get my Christmas OEM bed lights installed later in the month. I bought the truck since I'd never had a Toyota anything, didn't like the looks of Ford or Chevy small trucks and a big truck won't fit in our garage. The Tacoma just barely does.

I'm 58 and needed heavy towing for work so I got a Tundra. Will be happy to go back to Tacoma when I can.

Next week I will hit Sixty Fuggin Four :bananadead: retired this year so I got My very first Toyota product as seen in avatar. Love it so far, have had 2 chevy 4x4s in early 2000s and way back in 1980 I had a DATSUN kingcab pickup. I plan on keeping the Taco 10-12 yrs.

I am 52. I would really never know if I get weird looks or not as I usually never pay much attention to other drivers faces.

Yeah I got the useless step rails also, never use the step, but I wanted them more for driving in the woods keeping debris and more from hitting the body.

I'm nearly 68, have owned toyota 4x4 pickups since my 1977 wolverine. All of them were pretty good. I still have a soft spot for my old 1979 yellow 4x4. We drove that truck to hell and back on a fishing trip in the bush up in northern quebec....something i'd hate to try with these pretty gen3 taco's today.

My older brother's buddy bought a brand new 80 or 81 tan ( yellow?) regular cab 4x4 manual with the pie pan hubcaps for @ $11000. That is what started me on these trucks. He's a sedan guy now

About the only thing those step rails might be good for is having the car park next to you from walking its door into the body of your truck. Pretty sure they would hit the step rail first.

I use them to wash the top of my truck. Standing on them on each side I can get the entire roof.

Well , well.....59. Bought my first Toyota truck a 1986, used in 1988, I think it was $8500. Got stationed in the Philippines, sold the truck 3 years later for 10K. I've had one ever since. My son is the recipient of my last a 1998, which has well over 250,000 miles now. My 2016 is about to receive it's first serious mods as soon as I return home from Afghanistan later this month. They are GREAT trucks. I'd almost like to go back to my Gen 2....don't think my wife will let me though!

Does 73 count? We have a 2021 TRD Pro on order--should be here next week or so. This will be our fifth or sixth Tacoma. Now have a Tundra--too big.
