I'm potentially going to get a Decked system to use as a sleep platform on my rig instead of just building my own. I've heard a lot of complaints that the Decked system doesn't really use the space that efficiently even though its put together well and locks up tight.

Do you love yours? Do you hate yours? I'd love to hear some thoughts before I pull the trigger or just start building my own platform.

    thanks friends

It’s a nice idea but once you look at the price and weight, i changed my mind. It’s also not sealed so it can end up full of dirt.

I’ve just got a collection of Wolfpack boxes i use and strap them in. I can rearrange them or use them or chairs or steps or whatever. Or leave some home if i dont need them. Makes packing / unpacking pretty easy

It is heavy. It is expensive. It does not make full use of the available space in the bed but with the design it would probably be difficult to do that anyway. I'm not really crying over the dead space that exists under mine.
That said, it does provide a secure means to stow gear in an organized way that is not going to shift. It does that while still allowing for use of the surface to haul more stuff that would be carried infrequently (or frequently if you were not as concerned about security).
I haven't really had problems with dust, but I have had minor moisture issues after monsoonal rains, and that was really only once.
I've been very happy with mine. I use a RTT, so sleeping platform isn't a concern on mine, and I have a SB. With a long bed it would make a good basis for a sleeping platform if you run a soft top.

Thanks. I have a Snugtop hiliner that I sleep in and have been wanting to put a sleeping platfdorm in there in some capacity so I can have more storage. I'll probably wind up holding off and just building something super simple for this winter's camping and throwing bins underneath for storage. I just saw them talking about raising their prices next year so I was hoping to gain a little insight from folks with them to see if I should just say fuck it and pull the trigger.

I’ve considered the decked as well but I’m not fond of the voids, length of the drawers for short bed, shape of drawers (taper at bottom), and the weight.

I’m going to end up building my own, hopefully integrate the fridge I have coming and a power distribution area. More likely than not I’ll sell the Leitner setup and go canopy because the rack has legs that make the “entrance” narrow.
