Beautiful job, not just the welds, but also the engineering involved. I worked for many years as a welder/fabricator and it seemed that 90% of my jobs were engineered on the fly.

 

What kind of spiral insert can you post a picture

 

High clearance with that borla sound like your custom exhaust
I got the ovtune cattless headers with the urd ypipe , trd exhaust and now the flow to the trd exhaust get a horrible tin can vibration sound when I hit the throttle

Same as what’s inside a flo-pro twister, except that I am making it out of 304 stainless.

 

you've got a lot of work to do. the rear portion of your exhaust is overestricted and preventing flow to the back. after redoing the muffler with a non-restricted type, then you'll need to handle the rasp. the TRD muffler is highly restrictive and it needs to go if you want to keep that exhaust up front. i have two resonators and a bigass muffler for all this myself. but the performance improvement is huge if you can get the flow right.

 

It could definitely be the trd exhaust resonating due to the higher exhaust flow. This is another option (minus the side exit, turn it down), look at post # 1824. Expect it to be very loud/obnoxious though.

I’ve bought the parts, but haven’t made it yet. Going to install at the same time as the turbo kit.

 

Does this insert make the exhaust quieter or do you know what insert will make an exhaust pipe quieter. I picked up a stromung exhaust tucker for cheap and it’s loud,kinda annoying lol

 

Yes, it will tame it down a bit. Try adding the stock y-pipe back in and it should tame it a bit. Won’t be ideal, but it will give you an idea what might be possible. Or you can add the longest (2.5” x 18 or 23”) flo-pro twister you can fit between the urd-pipe and stromung. They are more effective than resonators. Does it currently get louder as the rpms go up?

How is the Flo pro twister install? Does it rattle inside the exhaust pipe or it fit in there snug

 

The unequal length y-pipe will make a bit harder to quiet it down then. I believe the flo pro can either be welded or clamped on. It will quiet down the overall volume though.

 

Do you every get a weird engine noise when accelerating slowly on the freeway on-ramp thinking because of the no catt

 

I don’t. This is what mine sounds like. Wanted to get some before/after turbo 0-60 times. Truck has 34” tires (100 lb tire/wheel), stock gears. Best was 8.21 with ECT on running mild & wild tune from a member here.
