I found the transmission and the tcase on Craigslist in gig harbor. I met the nice people in the corner of a parking lot. They had it in the back seat of a early 2000's mustang. Correction, were the back seat should have been. o_O

    The price was right, $250...:anonymous::spending::burnrubber:

All I got out of that was you were in the back corner of a parking lot and paid $250 for a tranny in the back seat of a Mustang.

i have a fairly well equipped truck so i can get us out of some sticky situations if needed.

Cool, I'm open to suggestions if other areas are closer or more convenient for folks as well.

Traffic going up to stevens will be bad from about 7-10am going east then from 4pm and on going west. Went up snowboarding last weekend and it took over an hour to get through sultan and goldbar. This weekend is supposed to be even more crowded.

Yeah, it was a pain last weekend, I was sitting for a bit going through there. I know there's a bunch of stuff out past Snoqualmie off of I-90 as well. If folks know some cool places to go, I'd be down to head that way. Maybe CBenfell can show us where he got stuck!

EDIT: There's south towards Rainier too.

I'll jump in on this one....

stampede pass - exit 62 (you can go right or left off the exit; right towards stampede pass, left toward kachess lake)
french cabin creek / salmon la sac - exit 80 through roslyn / ronald

How do you like those rims. I was interested for a while, but having major second thoughts due to how heavy they are since my truck is already a lead balloon.

Every time I go up there I run into someone mining for gold in a different spot. And they are finding it. Sluicing and panning.

They are heavy, however I've been super happy with them. I've been planning a relatively light build as I'm personally not a huge fan of bed racks and RTTs so I was willing to take the hit for fashion :D

I deer hunt most years out by salmon la sac. do you usually keep going straight up the road when you reach the bridge that goes to the camp site?

I know where that is, when heading further north where do you usually go? That can get really steep really fast if you head towards van Epps/ Gallagher

ETA: I’m in for Sunday in that area as long as i can get some maintenance stuff done on Saturday

So based on the discussion, it seems like Snoqualmie area will be a better choice, due to traffic, as well as seems like lots of folks know where. How about the Shell station in Easton as a meeting place?

    https://goo.gl/maps/ZDVHTXdYjDrnk1aV9

Is 9 AM too early for folks? I tend to wake up by 6 AM no matter what. Would later be better weather-wise? (asking for a friend, since I'm definitely not a noob)

EDIT: The Safeway in Cle Elum is another option? https://goo.gl/maps/6ZS9CKt4ththLiSN7

Seems like much of I-90 pass gets shutdown for snowmobiles only. Some of us did Stampede in deep snow the last couple years with no road blocks. But I've tried Slamming Mah Sack before and they block it off at the old ranger station. That area becomes a big snow machine recreation area.
