I'll jump in on this one....

stampede pass - exit 62 (you can go right or left off the exit; right towards stampede pass, left toward kachess lake)
french cabin creek / salmon la sac - exit 80 through roslyn / ronald

How do you like those rims. I was interested for a while, but having major second thoughts due to how heavy they are since my truck is already a lead balloon.

Every time I go up there I run into someone mining for gold in a different spot. And they are finding it. Sluicing and panning.

They are heavy, however I've been super happy with them. I've been planning a relatively light build as I'm personally not a huge fan of bed racks and RTTs so I was willing to take the hit for fashion :D

I deer hunt most years out by salmon la sac. do you usually keep going straight up the road when you reach the bridge that goes to the camp site?

I know where that is, when heading further north where do you usually go? That can get really steep really fast if you head towards van Epps/ Gallagher

ETA: I’m in for Sunday in that area as long as i can get some maintenance stuff done on Saturday

So based on the discussion, it seems like Snoqualmie area will be a better choice, due to traffic, as well as seems like lots of folks know where. How about the Shell station in Easton as a meeting place?

    https://goo.gl/maps/ZDVHTXdYjDrnk1aV9

Is 9 AM too early for folks? I tend to wake up by 6 AM no matter what. Would later be better weather-wise? (asking for a friend, since I'm definitely not a noob)

EDIT: The Safeway in Cle Elum is another option? https://goo.gl/maps/6ZS9CKt4ththLiSN7

Seems like much of I-90 pass gets shutdown for snowmobiles only. Some of us did Stampede in deep snow the last couple years with no road blocks. But I've tried Slamming Mah Sack before and they block it off at the old ranger station. That area becomes a big snow machine recreation area.

She’ll station in cle elum might be better, it’s on the way towards where we’d need to to head.

4400 Bullfrog Rd, Cle Elum, WA 98922

    0900 works for me

Let’s get a list together of who’s going to go

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
This has the making of stories to tell around the campfire for years to come. I would be up for going, but I'm supposed to help my brother Sunday with a project.

I’ll be leaving fall city around 0730 and at the preston/fall city exit getting onto I90 around 0745. If anyone wants to me meet at the park and ride in Preston for a convoy over the pass

Sunday is a no go for me. If anyone wants to borrow maxtrax or chains for 33s let me know, I'm on the way in north bend.

Suggestion - keep the convoy to 5 or less

To be honest I haven't explored the area a whole lot in the winter time. I suspect you are correct about the fortune creek / Gallagher area though. It is pretty high in elevation as well.

I have some straps, d-rings, traction boards, a light duty compressor, a 4T comealong, and a CB radio. I actually got my GMRS license last week and I've got a 15W radio on the way, which I'm hoping it will make it here by Sunday.

LOL! I may have misrepresented my preparedness (although not by much). Like I said, if we're relying on me to be the brave one, expect a conservative run :p
