Hi Y'all, I used to own a 1991 Explorer XLT way back in a previous life and it had the sun visors that had the extra flip down unit for the front windshield that could be used when the main unit was blocking the sun on the driver/passenger side windows. This was very helpful on winding roads. Has anyone ever come across something like this for the Tacoma? Thanks!

Check out the 2nd Gen Tacoma's as the visors had a little extras in them, l miss the little slide out panel that would go behind the rearview mirror.

I put one of those in my previous truck ... a Ford Ranger! The wiring wasn’t there but I didn’t put it in there for the light up vanity mirrors. I’m also curious if there are some other Toyota visors that are interchangeable like the Explorer/Ranger.

I plan to raid the salvage yards for interesting parts for my new Tacoma, from other Toyota products.

I still have my 2000 Ford Ranger, that I bought new. It turned out that there was a lot of parts interchangeability, from the Ford Explorer, the Mercury Mountaineer, the Mazda B-series, and even previous (and later) years of the Ranger itself. I got the double visors and the overhead console from the Explorer, and A-pillar grab handles from the Mazda (among many other things). As for the wiring, getting the official wiring diagram books for both the Ranger and the Explorer was indispensable. For example, the overhead console includes an outside temperature display. There is a temperature sensor behind the grille, and also a tie-in to the speedometer, so that the temperature is automatically adjusted for the wind chill factor. These are things you would not know without the wiring diagrams.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll post the same question on the 2nd Gen page.

NP, the 3rd Gen uses a 2nd Gen Cab so my guess is it would bolt right up.
