Shape not compatible. I might have to settle for a Healey Sprite.

PS, this forum has a longer memory than I do. That was a fun thread.

I like the idea of something you and your friend share a love for.

Can't go wrong with astrology stuff. I'm not into it per se but my first was my glyph based on a necklace an old girlfriend gave me in my 20s that I always liked.

Music perhaps if you like that.

    Or just any lifelong passion.

Check my album for pics of mine. But I have my glyph, 2 Danzig tattoos, and almost done with my Star Wars forearm.

I was 41 when I first got one so never too late.

And yeah, no names except parents or kids. I'd get my wife's name if she predeceases me though

Definitely find something you like, any good artist can draw it up or suggest something you might like. Mine isn't much into Star Wars but showed some ideas to the other artist at her shop who loves it. Don't feel any pressure either, and don't be afraid to start off saying it's all new. Maybe friends locally who you like their tats would have a recommendation..was blessed to find mine through mutual friends and I've followed her to every shop she's worked for 6-7 years

Years ago I went to a tattoo shop to run an idea by an artist. He proceeded to compliment my idea and then show he his new tattoo. He pulled down his trousers and showed me his ass cheeks. . On the left cheek was Eat and on the right cheek was Poo.

I shit you not, that's a true story.

Now my idea going in was a small bullet hole on my chest and then a tat of a big gaping hole with the anatomy showing on my back.

Passions are where I get hung up, they have changed a lot. When the subject first came up I was racing mountain bikes so the concept draw started as a simple chain ring. Then when I got into scuba it was an octopus entangled in a chain ring. I still like that one.

Though lately the free time has been spent towing the popup camper and hiking. If I put a campfire behind the octopus entangled chain ring, I worry that it might be getting overcomplicated.

Peer pressure is generally not a good idea for making a life-long, permanent decision. What did your best friend get as his tattoo? What are the designs that you have drawn so far?

    Truth, in my experience.

Disagree, the first one should be thoughtful, just not often the case.

Option, buy a bottle of Sailor Jerry and get whatever is on the backside of the label. I've actually considered this but only after consuming at least half the bottle.

    That would be impressive...

That is impressive and shows commitment. Kudos.

    No names.

That would be sick. Both in the positive and negative sense.

I've always designed my own and taken ink-ready art to the artist. Wish I'd had a better plan when I started. :) Good luck and follow up please.

Nice. Do that, you can always add or enhance in the future but a simple, effective design is always nice, great starting or ending point. I've found that time between tats is helpful in figuring out design and purpose.

I get that passions change but it’s something that you hold or held fondly at some point in your life that shaped you in someway and you want to remember it. I would pic one of those. Also it’s very clear your hobbies have some relation to nature. Maybe think of your favorite spots?
