VF tuning collaboration and BS

I have a scan gauge II. I can monitor TPS which I believe is a percentage value.
How does that compare to throttle angle? It does not seem to be a linear relationship.

 

How do I get GearLock on 2.0? Do we have to wait for OVT to release it?

 

Set the ECT pwr upshifts and downshifts to the lowest value for each corresponding primary gear. Ex: Downshift for primary 1 is 6.9. Set all of 1st gear down shift and upshift in the ECT pwr shift maps to 6.9. Do the same for all other gears

 

Trying to understand the ECU/tune correlation and use of vFTune. My ECU is 04B81. Does that mean I can use any tune with that ECU identifier (subject to other restrictions such as tire size, octane, etc.) without having to purchase additional credits for each different tune? Also, am I limited to using tunes strictly for ECU 04B81 with my 2020 Tacoma? Thanks in advance!

 

Yes you can use any tune with the same ecu identifier. And yes you can only use 04B81 tunes on your truck.

 

So, i've requested more "tokens" in the VF Tuner app. How does that work, do I receive an email whenever my request has been acknowledged or do I need to periodically check VF?

 

Buy them on the website. Then request on the software. One day when you open it up, you will be notified that you have credits available.

 

Okay, since this has now been tested on a few trucks and looks to be solid, so here's the M+W 3.1 tune on 04C20 (for 2021 AT). It's a pretty straight port, only minor changes to accommodate the slight differences between the ECUs, and some things left untouched (some of the TC maps) since those didn't need touching, they're already good. For the time it took to port this over and test it, feel free to send beer money if you use it!

Skip the 2.0.

 

I know that Mooseditty recommends trying 2.0 first for a few days before jumping to the M+W, since it's good to see what OVTune recommends first, so you can appreciate the differences (and the possibilities) with more custom stuff. Plus, I started one of my buddies at work on the 2.0, then did the M+W and he actually preferred the 2.0 so I reverted him. Different strokes, I guess!

 

Well guys i think i did it. went out to my truck to install tunes and these pop ups came up. now the truck wont start, i even tried going back to stock and same message. am i doomed? lol any help would be appreciated before i have to send it over to the dealer. it wont even let me identify the truck.

 

Are you trying to flash a .vft in flashmanager?

 

Did you know your ECU before flashing?

 

Looks like he is trying to flash 105.1

 

That won't even download anymore. I have the feeling he trying to flash one of these tunes in this forum. If you try and flash a .vft in the original flash manager you get that same error.

He needs to use a .p5f files. If he tells us which ECU he has, we can help him.

 

At first i was trying to use flash manager to get 105.1 but could not get it to download. SO i then went thru vft and used p5flash with some tunes from this thread and got success with everything up until this pop up. i have the 04B04 ECU.

Do you have the 04B04 stock tune? Try to reflash back to stock. Make sure all your lights and radio and screen are off.
