I went out to get something out of my glove box and noticed the seat was discolored. Put my hand on it and it is soaked with what seems to be water. Anywhere particular i should look for leaks? The headliner was dry as a bone. Ive only had hondas before this and never had this problem before

3rd brake light leaks were an issue with first of the 3rd gens, start there. If you have a moon roof, check those drains too. I know you said headliner wasn't wet, but these are the most common.

if its your front seat then its not the 3rd brake light, i would check the door seal and windshield gasket, was it ever hit or fixed in that area? sunroof?

Can you tell the difference between the original seal on these brake lights vs what they replace them with once they leak? Specifically, can you tell from the outside that it looks different somehow? I have a 17, but no leaks yet. I'm wondering if it has an updated seal as the brake housing sits up off of the metal.

Sorry I don't know, there are some threads on a fix, you might find that in there.
I tend to think of it's not making, leave it alone, but I don't blame you for being curious.
