    Question for my fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians:

    Will a rust hole on my Taco’s frame cause it to fail a state inspection? It’s about 1” in diameter and it’s on the inside of the frame near the gas tank. It’s definitely noticeable.

    The surrounding steel is intact but I can tell that it’s thin because it flexes when I push on it.

    I didn’t know what criteria the technician would use during the inspection to determine if the frame was safe or not.

    Depends by law it should fail.

    They have really gotten strict the last few years .

    One of those things depends just how good they know you if you have been going there years.

    Getting caught letting it slip past could impact the shops inspection license.

    Yes, that's a failure if they notice it. Simply welding a piece of metal over it will make it pass. I welded mine for two years before the recall came about and I gave up.
