This reminds of the time I picked up some random jagged piece of metal along with part of a plastic bag; That was when I had the Toyo tires on the truck...

I had gotten them at what was then STS (now Mavis Discount Tire) and had also purchased the road hazard warranty; I thought I would be able to get the tire patched, but they fed me some BS about it being unable to pass inspection with two tire plugs that close together; Unfortunately, the tire I needed wouldn't be in until the following day, and they actually expected me to leave the truck overnight! I honestly didn't give a shit about the "unable to pass inspection" issue because (A) my truck's inspection sticker was good for a couple more months at the time, and (B) if I did get pulled over, a cop wasn't going to inspect my tires nor would he or she give a shit if she happened to see the patches so close to each other.

I told the guy to attempt to patch both holes, and if he couldn't I would weigh my options; I needed my truck that night and there absolutely no way in hell I'd be leaving it in the tire center. The guy managed to patch both of the holes, and I came back the next day for my new tires...

You should not drive your truck w/ the airbag removed
That will most likely trigger the airbag light, then you will have to reset it

you don't need to look at schematics,
it's only 3 connections and you could not connect them the wrong way
I showed exactly what to do on the video I uploaded

Good luck on your intall and I hope your truck is Pre-wired

Good point, did not know that; Thanks for the info!

What other people on the forum are telling me is that 2009-newer base models (at least regular cabs) did not come prewired, and that I'm going to have to get another wire to run to the ECU.

They like to talk some bull crap to try to sell new tires, Its funny cause l drove the skunk flat Tacoma to the tire store with my spare wheel & tire on and the guy gave me shit about the lug nuts. Kept saying l had the wrong aftermarket lugs on the truck and the were the freaking factory lugs that came new on the truck.

I knew I needed a new tire; Just needed the truck that night and didn't want to leave it overnight!

I remember the dealer had the truck for like two days when I had to get the evaporator core replaced; Luckily I got a free loaner!

Yeah the loaners help for sure. I have a pretty cool dealership, back in 2016 they let me pick a new Tacoma off the lot to take home and test drive for a few days. It was nice but the Automatic was almost unbearable to drive as it could never decide on 4th, 5th, or 6th so it just constantly cycled thru them. I obviously ordered a Manual when l dropped that truck back off but to be honest l would not have ordered the AT even if it had been perfect and flawless.

Did a Blue Book on my cousin's 2017 RAV4 at her request, and it's only worth $13,715; It is closer to 83K miles than to 82K, so I rounded it to 83K. It was worth $17K the last time I did a KBB value, but she's really packing on the miles; She paid $26K for it new and has 0% financing, but man, I didn't realize that RAV4s had such a steep depreciation rate! The RAV has a couple of dents and dings and is presently in need of a full brake job (which she will be getting done at Jack Williams), but it is in excellent condition otherwise and everything works; Like her 2013 Honda CRV that had about 130K miles on it when she traded it in for the RAV4 in about September 2017, the RAV4 will likely be sent to the wholesale auction due its high mileage (The CRV had close to 40K miles on it when she bought it used in September 2014, and it was only a year old, so the previous owner drove even more than my cousin!).

I remember when the RAV4 first came out in 1996; I first saw one at a dealer about the same time my dad was looking to buy a new 4Runner (which he ended up not doing because in typical Toyota fashion no dealer within 50 miles of our house was willing to sell below sticker). I loved the RAV4 from the moment I saw it, and thought it resembled some sort of miniaturized Jeep, or possibly a more modernized and smoothed out Geo Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick. I wanted my dad to buy one, and while it was well within his price range (being considerably cheaper than a T4R), he wouldn't go for it because (A) it was way to small to be our family vehicle, and (B) he didn't particularly like the way it looked.

I actually saw a 1998 2-door hardtop model on eBay not too long ago; For starters, it was located in Southern California, but it was a stick shift with really low miles for the year and it was in great shape! It had also recently passed smog, and if it passed smog in California then it'll have no problem whatsoever passing an emissions test anywhere else in the country. It was unfortunately a front-wheel drive model and not a 4x4, but I probably still would have at least taken it for a test drive if it were closer to me, except for one thing...

NO AIR-CONDITIONING! In Northern California, I could understand a vehicle not having A/C because I've lived there, and I can tell you that it's generally mild enough for air-conditioning to be considered a luxury rather than a necessity for people who want to save money by not getting it. SoCal though? o_O

It was almost a hundred degrees in the San Fernando Valley at one point according to the temperature readout in the Uber (a 2004 Prius) I took from Malibu to Hollywood that one time back in July 2016 (luckily, the A/C in the Prius worked great)!

2006-2012 RAV4s are still a dime a dozen these days, and a good number of the ones I see these days are beaten to shit, including the '09 Limited my aunt and uncle bought new, and the '09 base model they bought for their youngest son (my cousin) in about 2012; My cousin keeps up with the maintenance and keeps his RAV in excellent mechanical condition, but he backed it into a tree when he was working as a park ranger in Yellowstone and didn't feel like dealing with insurance or paying the $1,600 or so to fix it out of pocket. Roughly three years later, it has started to rust due to the expose steel, and he just doesn't give a shit.

The factory AUX input also fried his iPod probably six or seven years ago and he refused to use it after that; I offered him my Boss head unit for free, including the Toyota wiring harness, but he turned it down. He is fine using a JBL wireless speaker for tunes on long drives; To each their own, I guess...

2013-2017 RAV4s (like my cousin's) are also a dime a dozen; Whenever I see a 1996-1999 or a 2000-2005 model, however, I jump at the chance to take a picture! The First Gen models definitely tend to be in much better shape than the newer ones I see around here; I have stopped taking pictures of 2006-present models unless they are customized or otherwise unique. I've seen 2006-newer RAVs with custom paint and wraps, custom wheels, and killer stereos, among other things; Those make it into my "Toyota Stalking" thread!

The last of the parts I need for the cruise control are in today, and I owe a balance of two bucks for the screws needed to secure the stalk to the clockspring; Going to the dealer after work to pick up!

    @ColoradoTJ

I just realized your Jeep appears to have a license plate in that one picture; I thought it wasn't street legal? Or did you register it before the teardown?
