I am interested in getting the following Exhaust Tip.
    http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=15_300&products_id=7857

I am new to exhaust and do not know much about them. If I get this will the Toyota dealership weld it on for me or will they bolt it on for me?

Which to better to weld or bolt?

How much louder will my truck be with this tip? I do not want anything to loud, just a nice deep growl and a tip that looks good.

Will I see any changes in performance?

Again, I am new to exhaust systems so if these are stupid questions please forgive me.

If you look and see how nice and shiney that tip is, that's about all it's going to do for your truck. No performance gains, no sound difference at all. That one bolts on with a clamp and you can turn the clamp so you can't see the bolt. Of course welding it on is more secure but only from someone unbolting it and walking away with it. Install is very easy and takes all of about 5 minutes if you clamp it on using the supplied hardware.

Not thinkin that is weld on. Wife had a similar one on the RAV4 that was bolt-on. As far as performance or sound...no changes, it's a decorative item. The change in exhaust note is gonna come from different header, muffler, midpipe or combination of those parts. Stupid questions are much much fewer and farther between than stupid responses to questions around here so ask away and fear not. The stupid responses are harmless and entertaining.

So I am guessing that to get a louder sound I need to do the TRD Exhaust upgrade?

the only thing it will do is make it look faster and lighten your wallet. No change in sound or preformance.

Correct. There are resonator tips out there that make minor changes in exhaust note, but nothing spectacular. TRD Exhaust would be a good option or just weld in an aftermarket muffler to your stock piping.

Depending on the muffler, you could most likely get it done for 100-150 for the muffler and the welding at an exh shop. Again depends mostly on cost of muffler. Welding it on shouldn't cost more than 40.

you can talk them down a little bit..i got mine for like 415.00 and that includes tax..its easy to install the TRD exhaust,it uses all the hangers your stock on has..im nowhere near mechanically inclined, and i install the catback in less than 30 minutes

Damn. That's a expensive tip. Just go to a auto parts store and pick one up there for less than half the price.
