After a few years of dicking with chains and sliding sideways, I got a set of used rims and REAL snow tires. All seasons cant compare. If you live in snow country, it gives you peace of mind. Worth every penny.

Your joking right. I havent seen anywhere close to 2 bucks a gallon in years.... also commute daily in my taco because like most poeple we dont have the funds or room for two vehicles.

That stated if i did live where multiple months out of the year snow / ice are on the ground, snow tires on steelies would absolutely be on the truck.

I paid $1.87/gallon in Boardman Ohio this morning.

You’re in Southern Cal? Yikes! “Do as I say, not as I do” Gavin has you locked down I thought...at least that’s good for gas mileage.

I paid 1.96 for 93 octane Thanksgiving weekend. Same pump was 2.04 the other day. Again,93 octane. there's not much to like about Indiana, but I like that. (Apologies to all ya'll Hoosiers on here.)

    Guys.....

nd4spdbh is in Southern California. They have special pricing on fuel. Can't really compare CA fuel price to the rest of the USA.

I love Michelin. Very quiet and smooth on the highway. Good in rain. And they last for longer than their warranty.

psssh.... eff that guy. Drove 1100 miles across the state last weekend on my quiet Michelins and did some mild snow wheeling (more like ice wheeling) up north. Guys with AT's having a hard time while I was in 2wd.

True that, and on the flip side he doesn’t have to drop 150.00 a year on wool wax to avoid the joy of listening to his frame rust on quiet afternoons in March...

I'm happy to share my personal experience with Michelin tires.

I previously owned a 2001 Dodge Ram Cummins diesel truck. It came from the factory with Michelin LT M/S tires. I put 108K miles (yes, that's right... 108,000 miles) on the original tires and they still had a fair bit of tread depth left. I only replaced them because they were almost 10 years old, and were showing a lot of sidewall cracks, and I was about to go on an Elk hunting trip to Colorado in an area I had hunted before and knew it was very rocky and I didn't want to risk blowing out any tires. I replaced with with another identical set of OEM size Michelin LT M/S tires. I sold the truck 5 years after that, that 2nd set of tires had maybe 40K miles and still looked almost new.

My dad told me a story about a Ford Ranchero he owned in the 1950's. He had a set of Michelin tires on it, he put almost 80K miles on that set of tires before he sold the car to a friend. He claimed the friend out another 30K+ miles on the same set of Michelins before he also sold the car. That story I can't personally vouch for, since it happened about 10 years before I was born :)

If Michelin made a tread pattern that I liked and in a size I wanted for these trucks (I have the OEM rims), I would not hesitate for one second to buy a set.

Michelins are the only tire I’ll put on my wife’s vehicles. They don’t have what I want in a truck tire though.

Cmon man don't kick us while we are down...we already get mugged annually for our truck registration...I get reminded every week or two about how bad gas is...

Newsom is just the cherry on top of the shit sundae

edit: I have Michelin LTX A/T tires and they've been working great for the 2.5 years I've had them. I got them on a special sale at Costco

When I bought my 2015, the first thing I did was get rid of the Dunflops that came on it. Less than 50 miles on them. I sold them and put Michelin LTX M/S. I have been running the Michelin LTX on my trucks since 94. I got 90K miles out of one set. Most of my driving is on the road with occasional off road. They are great in the rain and decent in the snow. I'll replace them with the LTX Defender when it's time.
